Recently, his manager confirmed that the actor passed away. The official cause of his death has not been revealed yet; however, sources shared some details.
For the unversed, Vincent Pastore's career spanned almost 40 years, and his passing has sparked grief. Pastore was found dead at his City Island, Bronx residence. It was his manager, Robert Attermann, who confirmed Vincent's passing. Speaking to Fox News Digital, Robert Attermann revealed that the actor died either on August 1 or July 31.
He further added that his work will be ever shining in his followers' hearts, while mentioning that Vincent just loved being an actor. According to Atterman, Vincent was extremely passionate about his craft and always encouraged everyone around him. Speaking to Fox, Robert Atterman said:
"He loved being an actor. He was passionate about his craft and was always encouraging, respectful, and generous with young actors, taking the time to offer guidance and support whenever he could."
The official cause of death of Vincent Pastore hasn't been revealed; however, sources revealed to TMZ that the actor passed away from natural causes. Pastore's neighbor last saw him on Wednesday and texted him the following day. It was Stephen Villano, who then, on Saturday, reportedly found him dead at his Bronx residence.
The Fire Department of New York received a call about an unresponsive man around 2 p.m., and the actor was found dead when the team arrived. According to Complex, Pastore was diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2014. Speaking about the same to Broadway World, Pastore revealed that he had 'surgery and 40 sessions of radiation in between rehearsals,' which were pretty 'dramatic'. Sharing that he's just happy to be able to dance and sing every night, Pastore revealed:
"I had goals and my first goal was to make it to opening night. My next goal was to make it to the Tony Awards and my goal after that was to make it to the end of the run. I dance and I sing every night and am lucky to be here."
Vincent Pastore's last public appearance took place two years back. The actor was seen at the 2024 Tribeca Festival in New York City on June 8, 2024. He was there to support longtime pal Steven Van Zandt for his film, Stevie Van Zandt: Disciple. A police source also recently revealed to Page Six that the actor died of natural causes.
Over the years, Vincent Pastore was seen in several television projects and films. However, before that, the actor served in the Navy during the Vietnam War. Following the same, he took an acting degree from Pace University, and the rest was history. He began with small roles, and in his early 80s, he landed his first acting job in Black Roses. Apart from that, he was also seen in Goodfellas, Carlito's Way, Men of Respect, and Witness to the Mob.
His breakthrough came in 1999, when he played Salvatore "Big P****" Bonpensiero on The Sopranos, and appeared in 30 episodes through seven seasons. Apart from that, he was also a part of several other projects like Shark Tale, Spinning Gold, Once Upon a Time in Brooklyn, Everybody Hates Chris, and Yellowjackets. He recently transitioned into television and was on reality shows like Celebrity Fit Club and Dancing with the Stars.
