Tyler Mane was earlier married to Jean Gortez. The two got married in 1988, but their marriage didn't last long, and they parted ways in 2003. The couple was blessed with two kids. It is an extremely shocking day for Tyler Mane's fans as the actor announced his super rare breast cancer diagnosis. He took to his Instagram video and shared that he has some bad news and he had started his chemotherapy. He revealed that one in 750 men gets diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime, and he has been one of them. Tyler revealed that it is something not many talk about, and it is often found at a later stage, which leads to worse outcomes. He said:
"I have some bad news, I start chemo today. One in 750 men will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime, and I'm one of them. Because it's rarely talked about, it's usually found at later stages and has worse outcomes. I want to change that."
Tyler further explained that his initial reaction after finding out about his breast cancer was to keep it private as he thought it was a kind of embarassment. But he changed his plans as he found out that men get diagnosed with breast cancer in the advance stages, as it is not talked about and people are not aware of it. He revealed that it was his wife who pushed him to get the lump removed. He said:
"But then I found out that men are more likely to be diagnosed in advance stages BECAUSE it's not talked about and not looked for. In fact, my doctors all dismissed it and it was only because my wife pushed me to get the lump removed that I got in early."
