Fans of Yash have been eagerly waiting for updates on Toxic over the last few years. While a release date of June 4, 2026, was confirmed in March 2026, the movie is now not arriving as scheduled. In the latest social media statement shared on April 29, 2026, Yash seemingly referred to his upcoming film by saying that there are movies that remind everyone of the love they have for cinema.
Yash even expressed gratitude for the response towards Toxic at CinemaCon, saying that it has once again acknowledged the fact that the film deserves to reach its full potential. Yash continued by saying:
“Toxic is complete, and we are currently aligning global distribution and partnerships. In light of this, we have decided to recalibrate our release timeline. While we will not be releasing on June 4 as announced earlier, we will be releasing at a later, globally aligned date. Toxic will come to theatres across the world soon. At a time when Indian cinema is finding its voice and stepping onto the global stage with such promise, each of us has a responsibility to raise the bar.”
Yash said that it is his responsibility as an actor and producer to ensure that the film reaches everyone with the maximum impact. Towards the end, Yash wrote that he is carrying everyone’s support with a lot of gratitude. He additionally promised to bring a film that everyone will enjoy and celebrate.
Back in March 2025, Yash announced the release date of Toxic as March 19, 2026, on Instagram. The actor also added a poster where he was spotted holding a gun. Notably, it was supposed to clash with Dhurandhar: The Revenge, which was released on the same day. The clash created headlines, leading to debates on who would emerge as a winner at the box office.
Around two weeks before the release of Dhurandhar: The Revenge, Toxic was postponed to June 4, 2026. According to News 18, the decision was a result of the issues in the Middle East, and the rescheduling was reportedly advised by Phars Films, one of the distributors of the upcoming film. The delay happened shortly after the release of the film’s first single, Tabahi.
The first teaser of Toxic came out in January 2026 and created headlines for its bold moments. Another teaser was revealed in February 2026, featuring some brief glimpses from the film. Apart from Yash, Toxic has five female leads, which include Nayanthara, Rukmini Vasanth, Tara Sutaria, Kiara Advani, and Huma Qureshi.
