Reality TV personality, Taylor Frankie Paul, who was filming The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, is currently grabbing a lot of attention for the controversy involving her and her ex-partner, Dakota Mortensen. For the unversed, recently a video of the ex-couple, involving domestic violence, assault and more has gone viral. Amid that, Taylor opened up about having multiple mental breakdowns during the reality show.
Recently, Taylor Frankie Paul had a conversation with New York magazine’s Vulture, during which she opened up about having multiple mental breakdowns during the shoot of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives. She further stated that she was very close to quitting the show. Taylor was quoted as saying:
"I had a mental breakdown the other day on-camera, and it was just like, ‘Well, we have to be here. We’re contracted’—no. This is not acting. I’m having a mental breakdown. I’m going home. That’s it, period."
It is worth mentioning that around the same time, Taylor Frankie Paul was also busy shooting and promoting the upcoming season of The Bachelorette. Talking about the same, she explained that it was suffocating for her. The emotional toll of it didn't let her process other things that actually hurt her. In her words:
"I’m overwhelmed to the point that I feel suffocated. The emotional toll, it catches up to you, and I think I’ve been go-go-go that I have not processed s--t that actually hurts. (The Bachelorette) was like I wasn’t in survival mode. And I’m in survival mode at home."
For those who do not know, Season 5 of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives has been paused because of a controversy between Taylor Frankie Paul and her ex-partner, Dakota Mortensen. On March 16, 2026, multiple reports claimed that Taylor and her ex-boyfriend, Dakota are involved in an open domestic assault investigation.
Reports suggest that the two got involved in a physical altercation at his home during a dispute over his past romance. Later, during the press preview of The Bachelorette, Taylor Frankie opened up about the serious matter. She was quoted as saying:
"It's extremely hard, and it took everything to get me here today. It's just heavy. It's a heavy time, and it's unfortunate. I'm struggling for sure, but also at the same time I feel like if I don't show up, then I'm just giving these opportunities away and not enjoying what we've worked on and something super exciting that's coming. I just feel like it was the right thing to do... show up even though it's hard."
