Ketan Agarwal passed away on June 18, 2026, after falling into a deep gorge near Lohagad Fort. However, what initially appeared to be a tragic act of fate later turned out to be an evil plot by his own fiancee, Siya Goyal. According to reports, the tragedy that took place near Maharashtra's historic Lohagad Fort has now emerged as a site of an alleged murder conspiracy, with investigators relying on digital evidence to unravel the case. The incident was initially being treated as an accident, with authorities believing that Ketan slipped and fell while visiting the area.
However, the investigation soon took a turn no one had expected when Ketan Agarwal's fiancee, Siya Goyal, visited his family four days after his funeral. According to reports, it was Ketan's sister who reportedly noticed inconsistencies in Siya's account of the events leading up to his death. This led the family to become suspicious about their late son's fiancee, further prompting the family to alert police, leading investigators to re-examine the case.
A recent search of Siya Goyal's phone records and surveillance data revealed some shocking findings. Police analysed these records and found out that she and the co-accused, Chetan Chauhary, had allegedly been in frequent contact for months before Ketan Agarwal's tragic demise. Investigators found that the two had exchanged 2,004 phone calls and spent nearly 238 hours speaking to each other over the last six months. According to police, the call records are a crucial lead in the case and will further help them uncover the alleged conspiracy behind Ketan's death.
Investigators also examined Chetan Chaudhary's mobile phone activity on the day of the incident. The records revealed that his internet connection remained switched off from 7 a.m. until around 5:40 p.m. on June 18, 2026. Further, during the investigation, officers allegedly discovered that Chetan had left his mobile phone at his shop to avoid location tracking. The police have claimed that the co-accused travelled to Lohagad Fort with a mobile phone that belonged to one of his employees. The authorities have alleged that this was intended to conceal his whereabouts. However, investigators say digital evidence and surveillance data eventually linked him to the case.
Both accused, Siya Goyal and Chetan Chaudhary, have been remanded to police custody until June 29, 2026. On the other hand, the defence has challenged the allegations against Chetan, claiming that the FIR does not contain anything that links him to Ketan Agarwal's death. Chetan's lawyer, Ram Shahane, argued that the FIR contains no direct or concrete allegation linking his client to the crime. The lawyer further claimed that the police have not presented any documentary evidence or CCTV footage attesting to Chetan's presence in the Lohagad area at the time of the incident.
