In an interview with a media portal sometime back, Sania was asked about that one quality that she would want her child to imbibe. She had stated, “The fact that the onus lies on him/her. We make our mistakes and we learn, but we should never have to give up on our freedom of choice. I don’t want my child to grow up and pass the buck saying he/she is in tough spot because he/she didn’t make the decision. That is a complete no-no.”

She also shared her views on managing her personal and professional lives. The ace tennis star was quoted as saying, “I have not followed the ‘traditional women route’ in my life. I have always been the odd one out and I am glad that I was one. My parents have always supported all my decisions — so whether I was playing tennis in Hyderabad at a time when nobody dreamed of playing tennis or winning Wimbledon or marrying the person that I loved or having a child after eight years of our marriage — I have always lived life on my own terms.” (Checkout: Aishwarya Rai Bachchan Posts A Beautiful Family Picture With Abhishek-Aaradhya On Valentine's Day)

And went on to add, “I wanted to have a family only when I was ready. I find pregnancy empowering because what we are doing and creating as women, nobody in this world can do. When I look at myself, I feel that pregnancy should in no way hold you back. It’s unfair to look at pregnancy as a drawback for your career or your life. My life has to still keep moving forward because that is the way... Obviously parenting is important. My parents have been extremely personal in their parenting towards us. But that didn’t mean we didn’t have people who took care of us when they needed to go to work. We, as progressive women have to move forward in life and that’s the only way to be. One of my biggest examples I would like to set for my child is that pregnancy or motherhood or parenthood should not be something that holds you back from your dreams.”

Sharing about her baby, she had then stated, “I want my child to be self-confident, self-sufficient and independent. While my child will be my number one priority, that does not mean I have to spend every single minute of the day with them to make them a good person or to parent them.” Further, revealing about her parenting style, Sania had remarked, “We just want to go with the flow. The one thing we are certain of is that perfect parenting is a myth. And we are in no competition. We will raise our kid that way we feel is right, not because someone or some book says so.” (Also Read: Anita Hassanandani's Hubby, Rohit Reddy Writes A Super-Fun Poem For His 'Honey' On Valentine's Day)

When probed further to tell what kind of father would Shoaib be like, she quipped, “Shoaib is going to be the lenient one because he has much more patience, and I have seen that to be a good parent you have to be very patient. I am a lot less patient. Shoaib is more paternal than I am maternal. He is also very discplined and organised, which is how I want my kid to be. As for me, I have a very strong sense of what is right and wrong. I will be a cool mom as long as we are headed on the right path.”

In an interview with Femina, Sania opened up about her pregnancy journey and her experience all throughout. The elated mommy had shared, “The experience was good—it was overwhelming and different. I think, as women, we underestimate our bodies and what they can do, and I had that self-realisation. I feel privileged that I was able to go through it. I had a decently easy pregnancy, if there is such a thing”.

What a lovely picture! Thanks Sania for making our day by sharing such a click!
