Joseph Vijay, the movie has managed to get a good opening at the box office despite mixed reviews. Initially scheduled to release in January 2026, the movie faced a delay due to some problems with the CBFC.

The video featuring C. Joseph Vijay’s estranged wife Sangeetha Sornalingam has been getting a lot of attention on X (formerly Twitter). The clip features Sangeetha reportedly arriving at a theatre in a car. She can be spotted in an ethnic suit and covering her face with a mask while coming out of the car.
The car is also surrounded by reporters while they try to take a picture. At one point, the video shifts to the outside of a theatre flooded with fans waiting to watch Jana Nayagan. As soon as the video went viral, netizens believed that Sangeetha came to a theatre to watch Vijay’s final film. However, the truth is something else.
Although the video seemingly hints that Sangeetha came to watch the movie, it has now been confirmed that it is an old clip. It was posted out of context, and social media users allegedly combined the video with a new one recorded recently to show that Sangeetha was at the theatre to watch the film. As of this writing, Vijay or Sangeetha have not reacted to the viral clip on any platform.
Sangeetha Sornalingam and C. Joseph Vijay were married in August 1999. At the time, Vijay was already an established actor in Tamil cinema. Over the years, Sangeetha largely stayed away from public events while Vijay continued his film career.
The couple has two children. Their son, Jason Sanjay, was born in 2000 and is now 25. Their daughter, Dhivya Sasha, was born in 2005 and is now 20. Family photos and public appearances over the years showed Sangeetha with Vijay at select events, including occasions involving friends in the film industry.
In December 2025, Sangeetha filed a divorce petition at a district court in Chengalpattu. According to reports, the petition cited irreconcilable differences. It also reportedly contained allegations of infidelity and referenced an alleged affair with an actress who was not named in the filing. After the petition became public, actress Trisha Krishnan’s name began appearing in online discussions connected to the matter.
To date, there has been no public confirmation of these claims from either Vijay or Trisha. Vijay and Trisha’s last film was Leo, released in 2023. The latter even made a cameo appearance in The Greatest of All Time, which featured Vijay playing a double role.
As mentioned, Vijay’s final film, Jana Nayagan, is out now in theatres. Directed by H. Vinoth, the political action thriller has an ensemble star cast, including Pooja Hegde, Mamitha Baiju, Bobby Deol, Prakash Raj, Priyamani, Nassar, and more.
