In a recent conversation, Sana Khan revealed the reason behind marrying secretly to Islamic scholar, Mufti Anas Sayed.
The former actress, Sana Khan, is currently grabbing a lot of attention for all things personal. She rose to fame with her stance on the show, Bigg Boss Season 6. For the unversed, Sana left the entertainment world in 2020 after her marriage to Islamic scholar, Mufti Anas Sayed. In a recent conversation, Sana revealed the reason behind marrying secretly to Mufti Anas Sayed. She even called getting married was one of the best decisions of her life.
Sana Khan and her husband, Mufti Anas Sayed, recently appeared on a podcast hosted by popular TV actress, Rashami Desai. During a candid conversation, Sana shared that when her marriage to Mufti Anas Sayed was finalised, it was 'top secret' and only her parents knew about it. Sana mentioned that she wanted to get married to Mufti, as peace was very important to her. The Bigg Boss Season 6 fame revealed that she got married secretly because she didn’t want anyone to change her mind.
"When our marriage was finalised, it was top secret; nobody knew except for my mom and dad. Getting married to him is one of the best decisions of my life. When we decided to get married, I didn't tell many people. Only my immediate family members and some others knew about it. In my heart, I wanted to get married to him as peace is very important to me, but I didn't share it with many people because I didn't want anyone to change my mind."
In the same conversation, Sana shared that her extended family didn’t know the groom’s name until their marriage. For the uninitiated, Sana tied the knot with Mufti Anas Sayed on November 21, 2020. In fact, when a mehendi artist asked her about the groom’s name, she told her to leave it blank. Later, when Sana’s cousins saw Mufti in the mosque, they came to know about his name.
Further in the same conversation, Sana shared that after she left showbiz, her industry friends distanced themselves from her. She mentioned that initially she used to wonder why they left her, but with time she realised that those relationships were fake. She added that if those connections were true, then they would have supported her. She was quoted as saying:
"Logo ne mujhse doori bana li jab unhe pata chala. Tab mujhe ehsaas hua ki yeh toh jhoothe rishte the, kyunki agar sachche hote toh chahe main aisi ho ya waisi, mera saath dete. Shayad woh kuch sochte hon ya na sochte hon, par mujhe lagta tha ki yeh log mere touch mein kyun nahi hain."
During the conversation, Sana addressed the rumour surrounding Mufti brainwashing her to quit acting and called the claims false. Sana shared that she wanted inner peace and thus left the industry. She mentioned that it was her husband who guided her as there were a lot of changes happening in her life. She was quoted as saying:
"The situation was such that major changes were happening in my life. I was literally transforming into a different person. And this was not something caused by my husband; it was something I wanted for myself. He was the one who guided me in that direction. Nobody can brainwash you; it’s never like that. I wanted peace. As time passed, I learned a few things, and that’s why I value my relationship with him so much. I keep telling my husband that I could have never found anyone better than him. It was indeed a tough decision, but I went for it."
