Sam was previously married to Naga Chaitanya; however, the marriage ended in divorce. Cut to now, Sam and Naga are both happily married to their respective partners, Raj Nidimoru and Sobhita Dhulipala.
Samantha and Raj's dating buzz was up there for a long time, and the couple confirmed the same back in December 2025 by uploading their wedding photos. A few months after that, in June 2026, the couple provided their followers with another surprise, revealing that they are all set to welcome their first child. To mention, Raj and Samantha were present at the success meet of the actress' movie, Maa Inti Bangaaram, in Hyderabad, where she was seen flaunting her baby bump, thereby confirming that she was expecting.
Since then, Samantha has been sharing adorable glimpses from her pregnancy journey. In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Samantha shared that she got to know about her pregnancy when she was shooting for the song, Thassadiya for the film, Maa Inti Bangaaram.
Sam shared that she was feeling sick during that time; however, she had to do the steps of the song. To Samantha, everything just aligned. In the same interview, Samantha revealed that her pregnancy was a surprise, adding that she and her husband, Raj Nidimoru, were both okay with having or not having children. Speaking about it, the mom-to-be, Samantha, said:
"I was shooting for Thassadiya, and I had just found out. I had to go and do the steps, and I was having a little bit of sickness at that time. So, well, I guess everything just aligned. I am truly excited, and really, I do believe it when everyone tells me, 'Having a child changes your entire life.' I think I'm ready for that change. There was a point where both Raj and I were okay with either. I was fine, and so was he. So, this was a surprise!"
Just before her surprising announcement, Samantha Ruth Prabhu, in an interview, talked about late pregnancies. The gorgeous actress mentioned that she doesn't think that it can ever be 'too late' for someone to opt to be a mom. Samantha shared that she also dreamt of being a mother, something she has always wanted. The actress called it a beautiful experience, while adding that people often worry about age, but there is no time in life when one cannot be a mother.
Samantha and her ex-husband, Naga Chaitanya, got married in 2017, and it was in 2021 when they shocked everyone by announcing their separation. During that time, one report claimed that before her shocking separation announcement, Sam was planning to have a baby.
During an interview, Neelima Guna revealed that when she approached Samantha with an offer, Samantha was excited but had one condition before making the deal. Neelima shared that Samantha told her that she was planning a family with her then-husband.
Neelima said Samantha was excited to become a mother and even said her child would be her first priority. In the same interview, the producer of Shakuntalam shared that when she and the entire team assured Samantha they would finalise the movie by July/August of 2021, the actress agreed to work with them. According to Neelima, Samantha even revealed that she was going to take a long break after the film to have a baby.
