Rob Reiner and Michele Reiner had been killed by their son, Nick Reiner, in their L.A home. The couple was found dead with wounds made by a knife. Later, it was disclosed that Nick, their son, had taken the drastic step of killing the couple. Such an incident has sent shockwaves around. For the unversed, Rob and Michele were married for more than three decades, and they had three kids together.
Nick had been to rehab for quite a long time due to his drug addiction issues. He was later out of the rehab and even started living life better, being free from his drug addiction, which began at the age of 15. Nick has been arrested for the crime of killing his parents, and now several other reports have been doing the rounds about what he did after taking this drastic step.
Earlier, reports claimed that Nick Reiner and his father, Rob Reiner, were fighting at Conan O'Brien's Christmas party. Sources revealed that Nick was seemingly back on the drugs, and he was acting 'crazy' at the Christmas party, while freaking out everyone. Nick reportedly even asked everyone if they were famous. However, Nick, Michele, and Rob, the trio, reportedly got caught up in a huge fight, as it seemed the son was refusing to take treatment for his alleged drug re-use. Later, Rob reportedly told everyone at the party that he was scared of Nick's mental health. It was a few hours later when Nick slit his parents' throats and stabbed them multiple times to death.
If a report by TMZ is to be believed, Nick Reiner checked into the hotel, The Pierside Santa Monica, after his fight with his father, Rob, at the Christmas party, and allegedly after the murder. Sources revealed that Nick used his credit card to check in and looked 'tweaked out'. Sources also mentioned that Nick did not appear to have been involved in any heated argument, and there were no cut marks on his body.
The reservation was made for one day, and after the check-out, it was found out that the entire shower was filled with blood, along with the bed sheets. The windows were covered, and following the detective team that came to the hotel to gather evidence, Nick was arrested 20 miles away in Exposition Park, near downtown Los Angeles.
Nick Reiner had been in 17-18 stints at rehab, and he refused to re-enter, which made him homeless at the age of 19. Nick, in an interview with PEOPLE, shared that when he was in rehab, he was waiting to come out and looking at life differently. He, after coming out of the rehab, with one of his friends, penned down the screenplay of Being Charlie, which is loosely linked to his life story as well.
