Rhea Chakraborty, who is all set to return to acting, opened up about leaving films as she wasn't getting any offer after the death of Sushant Singh Rajput.
Rhea Chakraborty has been through a lot since her name was dragged into Sushant Singh Rajput's death. While the riddle remains unsolved, she received a clean chit in the matter from the CBI last year. Rhea Chakraborty is all set to return to the screens with her upcoming series by filmmaker, Hansal Mehta. She talked about leaving acting after Sushant Singh Rajput's death in 2020.
For Rhea, life stopped after the sudden demise of Sushant Singh Rajput. She was called names and even went to jail during the investigations of illegal substance consumption. Rhea revealed that after 2020, the acting projects dried up. She shared that letting go off her dream of acting wasn't an easy one. She had worked towards it for over a decade, and they took therapy sessions for the same. She shared:
"Letting go of this dream of acting, which I had worked towards for over a decade, took many sessions of therapy. I had to stop thinking about it because I couldn’t have it; I didn’t get acting opportunities. Hansal sir and the writer asked me what was stopping me. I told them I had left acting and they said that's all the more reason I should do it because it does not matter whether I do well or not. Now I'm glad I said yes, it was different coming on set, such a long life has been lived in the last seven years. It's like cycling, something you never forget."
Talking about falling in love, in the same interview, Rhea admitted that she is open to falling in love again, as therapy saved her. She shared that she still believes in love and how powerful it is. She said:
"Therapy saved my life… I swore no matter where life takes me I will never be jaded. I still believe in love, it’s beautiful, powerful and love is the answer. Love makes the world go round."
In the same interaction, Rhea revealed that while everyone else was grieving Sushant Singh Rajput's untimely death, they forgot that someone who was the closest to him also suffered the biggest loss. She stated that she was never given the space to mourn her then-boyfriend's death. She said:
"Everyone thought that only they were grieving, and forgot that the person who was the closest to him suffered the biggest loss."
Rhea Chakraborty was dating Sushant Singh Rajput, and the two were in a relationship at the time of the actor's death. However, they had broken up a few weeks before Sushant died. On June 14, 2020, he was found dead in his Mumbai apartment. He was 34, and it was followed by a series of petitions and pleas by his fans to know how he died. However, Rhea Chakraborty got embroiled in the storm due to media scrutiny. Sushant's family lodged a complaint against Rhea, accusing her of abetment of suicide. She and her brother, Showik also questioned ED over allegations of money laundering. After CBI took over the case, NCB (Narcotics Control Bureau) arrested her and her brother, claiming that they supplied mari***na to Sushant Singh Rajput.
