Comedian Raunaq Claims His Wife's Rib Is Fractured Post She Was Kicked By A Mumbai Police Official

Comedian Raunaq Rajani had claimed that his wife, Henna Mirchandani suffered a fracture on her ribs when the Shivaji Park protest took place in Mumbai. Raunaq alleged that his wife was pushed and kicked by a Mumbai policeman when she was detained. A while back, Raunak took to his social media handle to showcase how the Mumbai Police misbehaved with her, and it led to injury.

A while back, Raunaq Rajani took to his Instagram handle to reveal how both of them were detained by the cops while they were illegally rounding up people at the Shivaji Park protest. He showcased snaps of both of them in the cop van and that they were shoved with brute force. Raunaq explained that he had also sprained his neck and said:

"Hi, my wife's rib has been fractured because of the protests in Mumbai. It was fractured by a policeman. I ended up having a sprain on my neck. She ended up having pain on her ribs. We didn't make a big deal out of it because honestly, people have been through so much worse in terms of police brutality in the last week that we were like, fine, this is what it is."

Raunaq then stated that he and his wife had then gone to Delhi. When Henna came back, her pain did not reduce, and so they went to a doctor who said she should get an X-ray, and she had a fracture. He showcased the video of the exact sequence of events that made his wife land with a fracture and said:

"So it starts with this kid getting detained, and both of us were telling the cops that they do not have the right to do so. Now, he's trying to get to me. While we are out here filming the cops doing this shameful illegal activity, keep an eye on the man in khaki uniform coming towards me. So this is how he got me down."

Raunaq also stated that initially he did not realise that his wife had a serious injury and felt there were many who got hurt during the protests. He showcased many videos that had the sequence of events documented. Raunaq claimed that he and his wife were simply questioning the detention of a young protester when the cops had approached them.

Raunaq claimed that his wife was manhandled when she tried to intervene in the situation. Raunaq then stated that another Mumbai Police officer who was dressed in red had pushed his wife in the police vehicle. He claimed this was supposed to be done by a lady cop. The male officer used his body to shove her in. Claiming his wife was kicked by the cop, Raunaq alleged:

"So, as you probably heard a lady cop even said but this man in red clothes came back and now see how he shoves my wife. Now, the same cop who pinned me to the ground, the one in khaki, he enters. Now, show this exact thing from inside the bus and then you will see how the man in khaki kicked my wife on the rib."

The comedian also alleged that he was trying to protect his wife during the incident. He was ensuring that she did not get hurt and had asked her to hold his hand. The man in khaki was then seen entering, kicking his wife and separating her hand. He stated that this nationwide protest has started only because the government has misused the police machinery and used it to beat up innocent protesters. And when they stood up for that exact cause in Mumbai, the police, instead of pulling back, tried to double down and do the same to them.
