During a recent conversation with Karan Johar, Rani Mukerji opened up about her husband, Aditya Chopra’s qualities that she adores the most. The Mardaani 3 actress shared that Aditya prefers to keep things basic in everyday life, and for her, it is an 'endearing quality'. Rani highlighted that, as she came from a very humble and simple background, she felt very attracted to Aditya, when she saw that her husband respects his parents. Rani mentioned that Aditya never boasted about his surname and carried the baggage of being the son of iconic filmmaker, Yash Chopra. She was quoted as saying:

"He likes to be really basic in his life every day, and it's a very endearing quality that he has. I come from a very humble and simple background. The way he respected his parents, the way he went about his daily life - that really attracted me to him. He didn't come with any baggage of being Yash Chopra's son. He didn't come with any baggage of being a very, very prolific filmmaker. If he had even an iota of air around him, I don't think I would have ever fallen for him."

Rani Mukerji and Aditya Chopra's love story

Rani and Aditya’s marriage was one of the biggest secrets. However, in a past interview with Bombay Times, Rani shared details about their first meeting. The Mardaani 3 actress revealed that she first met the filmmaker socially when she was doing Karan Johar’s Kuch Kuch Hota Hai. However, Aditya had a different version regarding their first meeting. According to Aditya Chopra, he saw Rani in Mumbai’s Sampan restaurant after her first film, Raja Ki Aayegi Baaraat. She mentioned it was Aditya who suggested her to Karan for the role in KKHH. She was quoted as saying:

"I first met Adi socially when I was doing Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, through Karan. Though Adi tells me that he has a very vivid memory of seeing me in Sampan restaurant, where I did not walk up to him to say a hi even though DDLJ had already released and he was already Aditya Chopra. Since actresses would usually walk up and introduce themselves to him, he found it strange. And he was also instrumental in me getting Kuch Kuch Hota Hai as he saw my first film and told Karan Johar, 'I think you should take this girl as she will be the next big star.'"

Recalling the moment, Karan said that he got a stern warning from Aditya Chopra just before his marriage to Rani. He was quoted as saying:

"I am petrified of your husband. He turned around and told me, 'If the wedding information leaks, it will be only because of you.' I was so stressed."
