He was just 27 when he left for the heavenly abode. According to reports, Presley died at a rehabilitation facility on September 20, 2026. Presley was reportedly struggling and sought help in his final days. While the autopsy report is out, the official cause of death listed on the report as of September 21, 2026, is deferred.
On September 21, 2026, a source told Page Six that Cindy’s only son, Presley, felt like he was lacking purpose in his life. The insider revealed that the 27-year-old Presley seemed a little off in recent weeks. Presley, who followed in the footsteps of his mother, Cindy, and his sister, Kaia, into modeling, had not found his place. The source added that he didn’t really know where he wanted to go and what he wanted to do. The insider said:
"He seemed a little off in recent weeks. Something was just not there. Energetically, he didn’t seem like himself. He was struggling with a lot of things, but he wanted so, so badly to be free of his addictions."
The source told Page Six that Presley checked into the treatment center over the weekend. According to the insider, Presley went into the center as he knew he needed help. The source added that Cindy’s son always suffered from a huge lack of self-esteem. The insider shared:
"He had not been doing well. He’s always suffered from a huge lack of self-esteem and had trouble accepting his real self and feeling fully confident in who he was as a person."
The 27-year-old model was open about his struggles with addiction and depression in recent years. In 2023, Presley revealed on the Studio 22 podcast his goal to raise mental health awareness after struggling with depression. The model shared that mental health is an issue and he wanted to help one person or a hundred people get out of that place.
Earlier, in 2025, Presley shared details about his treatments. At the time, he stated he had seen as many as 15 psychiatrists and was on various medications. The medications included Buprenorphine, Xanax, and valium to treat his panic attacks amid his mental health struggles. In one of Presley’s final Instagram posts before he died, he shared that he underwent psychedelic drug treatment for addiction.
Presley Gerber was born in 1999 in Beverly Hills to supermodel Cindy Crawford and businessman Rande Gerber. He grew up with his sister, Kaia. Months before Presley’s sudden death, Cindy gushed over Presley Gerber’s close bond with his sister, Kaia Gerber. In a May 2026 interview with PEOPLE, Cindy shared that nothing can make a parent prouder than when their kids like each other and love each other.
Like his mom and sister, Presley belonged to the modeling world. He began his modeling career at 16, debuting for Moschino. Before Presley got deep into modeling, he also tried his luck in photography. He later walked for Dolce & Gabbana, Burberry, and Calvin Klein. In 2018, Presley was arrested on DUI charges. In July 2019, Cindy’s son pleaded guilty to a DUI misdemeanor and was sentenced to three years’ probation.
