While others thought that it was okay for Patrick to move on and live his life, as three years have already passed since he lost his kids. Recently, on September 4, 2026, Patrick broke his silence. As per the attorney, Patrick was grateful to the Court and to the jurors for their hard work and weeks of commitment to finding out the truth regarding his kids' deaths. His legal counsel further stated that the trial period was particularly difficult for his client as it made him relive the horrific day of finding his kids dead in his house.
David further stated that Patrick will "never recover" from the loss and will never get a "closure". Thus, even when he appeared to have moved past the grief and was seen smiling with his new wife in public, part of him will always remain haunted by the past. In David's words:
"The loss of Patrick's children is something from which he will never recover and from which there will never be closure. The prospect of reliving this tragedy through another trial is extraordinarily painful for Patrick, for his family, and for all us."
