It was a year ago when influencer Melissa Mae Carltons 9-year-old daughter, Abigali, passed away. Now, her younger daughter, Molly, also bid farewell to the world. What were the reasons?
Influencer Melissa Mae Carlton is going through a major heartbreak after losing her daughter, Molly. It was a year ago, when Melissa's elder daughter, Abigali passed away, and now on Christmas 2025, the influencer lost her younger daughter, Molly, leaving her heartbroken. One can only imagine what Melissa has been going through. Sharing the heartbreaking news of her daughter's demise on Instagram, Melissa shared that she's somewhat at a little comfort, knowing that Molly, who wanted to meet her elder sister, would reunite with her in heaven. Amid this, let's learn the reasons for Melissa's daughters' passing within a year!
Influencer and photographer Melissa Mae Carlton and her husband, Tom Carlton, were childhood friends. It was in the later years when they reconnected, and that time they got married. They had four kids, three daughters, and a son. It was back in 2024 when Melissa and Tom lost their elder daughter, Abligali. Abigali was 9 years old, and she died of sepsis, which is a serious condition that can trigger death resulting from the body's response to the presence of harmful infection or fungus, bacteria, or even other tissues.
Melissa lost her elder daughter, Abigali, because of sepsis, while Molly, the influencer's younger daughter, was said to have a genetic heart condition. On Reddit, people shared that Molly suffered a cardiac arrest, and while Melissa didn't reveal that on social media, she shared in a post that they didn't have any official diagnosis that might have caused Molly's death, except for the fact that they were told by doctors that the little one had a genetic heart condition. Well, the demise of both of Melissa's daughters surely left her world in ruins.
While Melissa and her husband, Tom, couldn't get the official diagnosis about what caused Molly's sudden cardiac arrest, the influencer, in an IG post, shared that her younger daughter was monitored at the hospital, something that couldn't have happened during the time her elder daughter, Abigali, passed. Melissa further mentioned that she and her husband never felt satisfied about the reasons that were shared with them, but they were told that such a minor illness can even trigger a cardiac arrest, which becomes tough to survive. Well, Melissa and Tom are hoping only that they get the answers soon, while the genetic investigation of the family will take place soon.
In an emotional post, Melissa wrote that her son, Harry, while crying, told her that on December 21, 2025, when they boarded a plane to Arizona, Molly told him that she wanted to be with her late elder sister, Abigali. Breaking down in tears, Melissa's son said that Molly got what she wanted. She could be quoted as saying:
"Last night, through tears, Harry told me that when we boarded the plane to Arizona on Monday, Molly leaned over and told him she wanted to be with Abi,” Melissa recalled. Through sobs, he said, ‘She got what she wanted.'"
We wish Melissa and her family stay strong in this testing time!
