Josh Hart is one of the most well-known American professional basketball players. At present, he plays for the New York Knicks in the NBA and reportedly holds the franchise record for the most triple-doubles in a single season.
Most recently, Josh was seen at Game 3 of the 2026 NBA Finals between the San Antonio Spurs and the New York Knicks. Now, before his appearance in Game 4, many have become interested in knowing about Josh's wife, Shannon Hart.
According to Shannon’s bio on X (formerly Twitter), she attended the University of Maryland, Baltimore County. Here, she also used to play soccer. As per the official roster, Shannon majored in health administration and public policy. Following this, Shannon attended the University of Maryland School of Nursing. She seemed to have graduated in 2019, with her now-husband, Josh Hart, posting photos of her on Instagram in December of the same year, writing, “Congrats on graduating nursing school and cheers to new beginnings!” The next year, in September 2020, Shannon began officially working as a nurse.
If reports are believed to be true, Josh Hart and his wife, Shannon, first crossed paths when they were in high school, during their sophomore year. The duo often tend to reflect on their year-long relationship. For instance, in March 2019, Shannon took to her social media to share a birthday post for Josh in which she wrote:
"We have been through everything possible, and I wouldn't trade it for the world. You truly are a great person, and I'm so grateful to have you in my life. I hope you have the best day possible, and I hope to see many more birthdays with you. Love you, bub!”
Back in November 2020, Shannon Hart and Josh Hart celebrated their 9 years together. At the time, Shannon wrote on Instagram, “Through thick and thin alwaysss!”
It was in December 2020 that Josh Hart and Shannon got engaged. Shannon announced the good news on her Instagram, saying that she couldn't believe she was now engaged and that Josh did an amazing job. Later, the former New Orleans Pelicans player opened up about the proposal in an interview. He claimed that he was totally calm, cool, and collected when he proposed to Shannon. He added:
"I knew what I was going to say when I got to the gazebo, but what I didn't think of was that 15-20 second walk to get there. I almost slipped up saying, 'Your mom and brother are coming here,' and I'm like, 'I'm an idiot.' I got really nervous, and I grabbed the ring when we went outside and started rambling on the first walk to the gazebo."
On the other hand, Shannon claimed that she nearly “blacked out” when Josh got down on one knee. According to her, she “didn't remember” if he even asked her the all-important question.
Josh Hart and his wife, Shannon, tied the knot on August 28, 2021. As per reports, they held an intimate ceremony at 1 Hotel South Beach in Miami. For their honeymoon, the couple travelled to Italy, Greece and London. The following month, in September 2021, Shannon shared photos from their vacation on social media, writing, “What an amazing honeymoon! Can't wait to spend the rest of my life with you!!!”
Shannon Hart is a mom of two. She and Josh reportedly welcomed twin sons on May 12, 2023, named Hendrix Aaron and Haze Dana. Two months after their birth, Josh shared a number of photos of his newborn babies. In the adorable pictures, one of the boys could also be seen wearing a New York Knicks jersey over his diaper. The NBA star captioned the post:
"We fall more and more in love with you guys every single day, and we are so lucky to get to call you ours!" Josh captioned the post. "You guys have changed so much since the day you were born, and we are so excited to continue to watch you boys grow!
The twins made their modelling debut at the Macy's x Rookie Kids: Runway on Broadway show in September 2025. Following the show, Josh could be seen stepping in front of his seat in the front row to hold his sons' hands and help them down from the catwalk.
It is safe to say that Shannon is Josh Hart's biggest support system, as she has been with him “since the beginning”, as he wrote on social media in May 2020. To mention, she stayed by Josh's side when he was honoured by his alma mater, Villanova University, in January 2022. Later, she also supported him during Josh's first game with the New York Knicks in February 2023. Since then, she has often been spotted courtside, cheering for her husband.
