Well, the fans of Mayor of Kingstown have another to celebrate as Jeremy Renner has officially confirmed Season 5 of the crime drama.
As Mayor of Kingstown season 4 has reached its end, viewers have been generating a lot of buzz on social media, demanding another season. Well, Jeremy Renner recently confirmed the same. During a fan interaction, Jeremy, who plays the role of 'Mike McLusky' and is also the producer of the show confirmed that they will return with another season. He even suggested that season 5 could be the final one. He was quoted as saying:
"Mayor of Kingstown will end with season 5, and we already have a really cool end planned."
While the official release date of Mayor of Kingstown season 5 hasn't been officially announced by the makers or by Paramount+, multiple reports suggest that season 5 might drop in the late 2026. For those who do not know, the series began in 2021. The second season was released in early 2023, the third one in mid 2024 and the fourth season in late 2025. If the makers follow the same pattern, then the upcoming season will take around 12 to 14 months to release.
For the unversed, Mayor of Kingstown season 4 showed 'Mike McLusky', who found himself losing control as violence inside and outside the prison system increased. His brother, 'Kyle' also ended up behind the bars. The show also features a new prison warden, who brings in stricter rules. This makes it even more difficult for 'Mike' and 'Kyle'. Towards the end of the show, it felt like Kingstown was on the verge of collapse.
Talking about the upcoming season, viewers can expect season 5 to be picked up from where season 4 will end. Most probably, the focus of the next season will remain on 'Mike's' fight as he continues to deal with personal struggles and difficult choices. It is worth mentioning that there are chances that 'Kyle' might take center stage as well. And since the makers have already planned the ending, viewers can expect to find answers to all their questions in season 5.

In 2023, his life took a drastic change, when he survived a major accident. During the same, he had broken more than 30 bones and had severe injuries. After recovering, he had returned to the set of Mayor of Kingstown. He once shared:
"I’m so blessed that I had so many things to live for. I have a giant family, a 10-year-old daughter. I would have disappointed and messed up a lot of people’s lives if I passed. There’s a lot for me to fight for. Recovery is a one-way road in my mind. I still work hard every day."
