Mahesh Bhatt reveals that speaking to his granddaughter, Raha, in a day is more than enough. It was in November 2022 that Raha came into the lives of Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor.
Alia Bhatt's father, Mahesh Bhatt like any other proud grandfather has always expressed his love for his cute granddaughter, Raha. Mahesh recently sat down for an interview and called his granddaughter, Raha a 'drop of divinity'. He revealed how the child has got a lot of joy in his family and reflected on his daughter, Alia's sojourn from being atop actress to beautifully accepting motherhood.
Mahesh Bhatt sat down for an interview with the ETimes and could not stop describing her vitality and also sharp features. He shared that her vitality is fierce, her mind is sharp, like it is almost evolutionary. Mahesh Bhatt feels that his granddaughter, Raha gives him a sense of time. He shared that speaking to her in a day is like more than enough. In his words:
"You stand at a vantage point and watch the stream, your daughter, her child, and suddenly you see the continuity of life that has flowed for millennia and will continue long after you are gone. And yet, I know I am no different from any other grandfather. Each one, in that moment, rediscovers life. To simply speak to her... that is enough for a day."
Mahesh Bhatt revealed that he has closely watched the journey of his daughter, Alia Bhatt, in the Bollywood industry. He revealed that she has climbed the ladder of achievements and has confidently handled her career and also motherhood. Speaking about his feelings of seeing his daughter, Alia, as a mom, Mahesh revealed that Raha gets a smile on his face whenever he sees her. Mahesh revealed that Raha gave him a chance to reflect entirely on the circle of life. Mahesh Bhatt further revealed that when he came to know that his daughter, Alia Bhatt and son-in-law, Ranbir Kapoor were expecting their first baby, it was a transformative emotional experience for him. He agreed that the birth of Raha in their lives was in itself like a divine experience.
Mahesh Bhatt opened up and shared that he is at a point in life where he can see both his daughter as well as granddaughter. He sees a continuity of life that has flowed for millennia and will continue long after he is gone. Mahesh Bhatt also noted that despite these philosophical observations, he is a regular grandfather to Raha and is rediscovering life with her. It was in November 2022 that Raha came in the lives of Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor. Ever since her birth, there has always been a lot of happiness in the house of the Bhatt's and Kapoors. Mahesh Bhatt feels that he has transformed and is proud to have witnessed two generations- his daughter as well as his granddaughter. He feels blessed to have seen the growth of both and also rediscover life.
Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor celebrated their fourth wedding anniversary on April 14, 2026. The couple had been to the snow capped peaks of Austria and shared heartfelt moments that included them skating on the snowy terrain and also enjoying a perfect, cosy date night. Alia had written in her caption:
"Somewhere between gliding and falling, walking and a lot of talking…. we made ourselves a pretty wonderful life. In short .. Tu saath hain toh din raat hain."
