Lionel Messi and his family are going through a tough time as his younger sister, Maria Sol, suffered a horrific car accident. The 32-year-old, Maria, suffered major injuries and burns after her car lost control on a Miami road and crashed into a concrete wall. The horrific incident resulted in two fractured vertebrae, a broken heel, a broken arm, and severe burns.
Maria was preparing for her marriage with Inter Miami's under-19 team coach, Julian 'Tuli' Arellano. The wedding was scheduled on January a football superstar 3, 2025, but it was postponed after Maria's tragic car accident. Read on to know more about her!

However, due to injuries, it will take time for her to heal. For the unversed, Maria crashed her car and hit a wall while driving on Miami road. Her wedding ceremony, which was scheduled for January 3, 2026, has been postponed. The reporter said:
"Messi’s sister is okay, she’s out of danger, but I was checking things with the family because she was due to get married in Rosario, Argentina, on January 3, and she’s going to have to suspend it. She suffered burns, and burns are very difficult to treat, as well as displacement of vertebrae. She’s already started her rehabilitation in Rosario. I asked her mum, Celia Cuccittini, because I’d received some information and she told me it’s true, but that Maria Sol is okay. She has two fractured vertebrae, a fractured heel and wrist. The wedding will be rescheduled. Celia told me she fainted and hit a wall."
Maria Sol's wedding was said to be hosted in her native Rosario, the same city where her famous footballer brother married his wife, Antonela Roccuzzo. The entire family, including the inter-Miami and former Barcelona star, is said to attend. Maria Sol grew up in the same neighbourhood as her partner.
