Add BollywoodShaadis on GoogleJustin Bieber and Hailey Bieber are considered the most-loved couple around the world. But Hailey has been dealing with a silent battle. The 29-year-old founder of Rhode Cosmetics revealed that she has been suffering from Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder after giving birth to her son, Jack Blues.
Recently, Hailey talked about her health challenges after she embraced motherhood. During an interaction, she revealed that she was diagnosed with premenstrual dysphoric disorder after giving birth to her son. However, there is not much research about the condition. For the unversed, Hailey welcomed her son with Justin in August 2024.
Hailey revealed that if there are more people knowing about the condition, it helps in knowing that you are not alone. She said:
"After I had my son, I struggled with [PMDD] a bit, and there’s just not a lot of conversation or research around it. Conversation, for me personally, makes me feel less alone. When we can identify with each other and have conversations relating to each other and [talk] about the things we’re dealing with and struggling with, I do think it makes it feel like less of a lonely journey."
Hailey revealed that her sister suffers from PMOS, which was formerly known as PCOS. She added that she was diagnosed with PMDD months after her son's birth. She shared that just a week before her menstrual cycle, her thoughts swirled and she felt like her entire life was going to end. However, things felt normal again after her period started.
Hailey claimed that her work, relationship, and social life got disrupted. She added that it is a dangerous condition and should be dealt with care. She stated that postpartum is a full year where hormones take time to normalize and your body to recover. To heal herself, Hailed used supplements and found some inflammation-focused options. She also revealed:
"I cannot overstate this. Pelvic floor therapy helped me. I did pelvic floor therapy during pregnancy and after. It is one of the first things I recommend."
Hailey revealed that before her pregnancy, she had a mini stroke just before she turned 25. Her right arm went numb, and she had difficulty speaking, and the right side of her face drooped. It was in scans that they found that a tiny part of the brain was affected, which controlled her speech. Since her symptoms cleared, she did not need clot-busting medication. She said:
"I think that situation made me a little bit extra hyper aware of my body, a little bit more nervous about things and staying on top of them. I’ve just always been really focused and fascinated by health, and it was also kind of what led me to want to do Rhode. My obsession with skincare also comes from my obsession with medicine."
Earlier, Hailey revealed that she had a risky medical condition, which was a uterine septum, a genetic condition where a thin wall forms in the uterus. She revealed that she was given an alert and warned about having a miscarriage. However, she didn't think much about it and believed that she would cross the bridge when it came. She said:
"It was a surprise. Yeah. So I had a septum in my uterus, and Dr. A kept saying, 'Well, we need to look at this and keep an eye on it before you get pregnant because it could potentially be an issue. I don’t really know. We've got to see. I might have to give you a small surgery for it. Not sure.' And I was like, 'Okay. Well, I’m not thinking about getting pregnant right now, so we’ll just cross that bridge when we get there.' And then I magically got pregnant."
