The Japanese manga series, Jujutsu Kaisen written and illustrated by Gege Akutami. It was first serialised in Shueisha's Shonen Manga magazine, Weekly Shonen Jump, from March 2018 to September 2024 and follows the story of a high school student named 'Yuji Itadori' as he joins a secret organisation of Jujutsu Sorcerers to eliminate a powerful villain, 'Ryomen Sakuna'. The manga made its streaming debut on September 19, 2020, and was officially aired on MBS and TBS's Super Animeism programming block on October 3, 2025. Now, the series is all set to be back with its season 3, and here's what you need to know about it.
Jujutsu Kaisen finally returns for its third season on January 8, 2026. Fans have been eagerly awaiting the show's premiere, and it is only hours away from its global debut. Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 ushers in the brutal and high-stakes Cunning Games saga. This season is even more special to fans, as it marks the beginning of the final chapter of Gege Akutami's masterpiece, adapted by the powerhouse studio, MAPPA.
The first episode of Jujutsu Kaisen premieres as a one-hour special, diving straight back into the aftermath of the Shibuya Incident. The global simulcast is live on Crunchyroll. The show will be released in US Pacific Time on January 8, 2026, at 9 a.m., while in Eastern Time it will be released three hours later, at 12 noon. In the United Kingdom, Jujutsu Kaisen premieres at 6 p.m. In Europe (CET), the show airs at 6 p.m., and in India, fans can stream it from 10:30 p.m. Japan, on the other hand, will be able to stream the show on January 9, 2025, starting at 2 a.m., and in Australia at 4 a.m.
While MAPPA has not officially confirmed the number of episodes in Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3, industry expectations and assumptions suggest the manga series will span two cours, with an estimated 24 to 26 episodes. The opening arc is expected to cover 'Itadori's' Extermination and Perfect Preparation sequence, setting the stage for the broader conclusion of the Culling Game storyline. Meanwhile, the subtitling as "Part 1" officially confirms a multi-part structure.
Reports based on industry data project a total of 24 to 26 episodes, split into two courses of 13 episodes each. The first five episodes will focus on 'Itadori's' Extermination and Perfect Preparation arcs, setting the stage for the Game of Death in Episode 6.
Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 will stream online starting January 8, 2026, and Part 1 will conclude in late March 2026. Jujutsu Kaisen airs with (Part 1) Episode 1 and 2, which is a special double premiere on January 8, 2026. The third episode will be released on January 15, 2026, continuing the weekly release pattern of one episode every Thursday, culminating in the mid-season finale on March 26, 2025.
