Earlier, in August 2026, Jiya got engaged to US-based entrepreneur Kaaran Dhanak, a.k.a. KD. Fans shared their concerns and wondered what went wrong in their relationship. Amid this, Jiya took to her Instagram Stories and opened up about their relationship.
A while back, Jiya Shankar took to her Instagram Stories to share a note. In the note, Jiya clarified that the recent assumptions about her personal life were taken out of context. She requested social media users to stop speculating about her relationship with KD. She added that some things are private and would appreciate it if people respected that. The Ved actress wrote:
"I'd like to clarify something. Recent assumptions about my personal life have gone far beyond what I've actually shared. Please don't speculate about or spread rumours regarding my relationship. Some things are private, and I'd appreciate everyone respecting that."
It is worth mentioning that ever since Jiya shared the cryptic posts and fans noticed that she unfollowed KD, netizens speculated that KD cheated on Jiya. One user wrote, "Shayad KD cheat kiya hai Jiya ko." Although Jiya unfollowed KD on Instagram, her IG profile still features love-filled posts of the duo. In fact, Jiya’s emotional engagement post is also visible.
Jiya kept her romance with KD out of the public eye for a long time. On August 5, 2026, she surprised fans by posting that she got engaged to the love of her life, KD. Along with a heartfelt note, the actress shared some wholesome pictures of her and KD. In one of the pictures, Jiya was seen getting emotional while KD was holding her hand and looking at her.
In the note, Jiya mentioned that she finally got the love after a long time. She shared that God really tested her patience in this. She said how the conversations with KD became meaningful even though they shared a long-distance relationship. She added that the journey was not easy, but every single day they chose each other. Jiya shared that KD showed her the love for which she waited her whole life.
Jiya mentioned how KD made her feel on her toughest days. She described KD as her home. She called him her 'goofball, best friend, ABCD.' She shared that with KD, life is definitely an adventure and happens to be her favourite rom-com. She wrote:
"Held me a little tighter every time at airport goodbyes, like your heart was breaking into a thousand pieces. No matter where we were in the world - home was never a place; it was always you."
Jiya shared that she cannot wait to spend her life with him. Time and again after their engagement post, Jiya shared many love-filled posts featuring her and KD. In a September 2026 post, Jiya shared adorable pictures of her with KD and wrote, "And we saw forever in each other." Before finding love in KD, Jiya was rumoured to be dating Abhishek Malhan. In fact, they also sparked engagement buzz.
On December 30, 2025, Telly Khazana reported that Abhishek Malhan and Jiya Shankar were dating and would soon make their relationship official. The outlet also suggested that the duo were all set to get engaged soon. Later, Jiya dismissed the rumours and said that they were never more than friends after meeting on Bigg Boss OTT 2.
