She became widely known in 2020 after filing a lawsuit against former Fox News anchor Ed Henry, which led to his dismissal from the network. The case was settled in 2025. In one of those posts, she described the challenges she faced during her lawsuit against Fox. She also stated that in the period leading up to her filing, she had felt severely anxious about going to work.
Eckhart, who joined Fox Business in 2013, filed a complaint in June 2020 concerning Henry, then 55 and co-anchor of America's Newsroom. In her complaint, she alleged sexual misconduct at work. Shortly after the complaint was filed, Henry was suspended, and his employment was terminated. According to a staff memo from Fox News Media CEO Suzanne Scott and President Jay Wallace at the time, the action was taken after an internal review.
Eckhart shared an update on Instagram about her case in October 2025. Alongside a professional portrait, she included a message stating that her pursuit of justice had become a larger moment of reckoning. In the caption, she explained that her case was not solely about her own experience but about corporate accountability.
Jennifer Eckhart noted that the network had spent considerable resources contesting her lawsuit for more than five years and said the broader issue involved how companies address reported misconduct. She further stated that her appeal could have implications beyond her own case and might influence how corporations are held responsible when complaints are raised. She described the previous year as challenging on multiple fronts, including mentally and financially, but added that her resolve remained firm.
Jennifer also wrote that the appeal represented a significant step for her and that institutions that rely on secrecy could not avoid scrutiny indefinitely. She concluded by saying she was aware of the risks of speaking out instead of remaining silent, but that she was at peace with her decision to do so. The appeal followed a March 2025 ruling in which a federal judge dismissed parts of her lawsuit, including retaliation claims.
Jennifer Eckhart began her media career in Florida, working as an entertainment anchor for WUFT-TV in Gainesville and as a correspondent for ESPN Radio, including hosting duties for the 2011 ESPN College Football Awards.
She joined Fox in 2013, initially as a freelance administrative assistant before moving into production and receiving several promotions. Over approximately seven years, she worked behind the scenes at Fox Business Network as an associate producer, managing broadcast segments and daily logistics, and working on interviews with major corporate leaders.
After leaving television in 2020, Jennifer Eckhart built an independent career. She launched the podcast Reinvented with Jen Eckhart, featuring guests from business, sports, and entertainment who had overcome personal or professional setbacks. She also established The Reinvented Project, a nonprofit promoting animal-assisted therapy for people recovering from trauma.
