Jelly has again come under the spotlight as he announced a career break after filing for divorce. He announced the break on the last day of his tour, at Weidner Field in Colorado Springs.
On July 30, 2026, Jelly Roll announced that he is taking a career break. He mentioned that the break would be at least a year off following the end of his tour. For those unaware, Jelly wrapped his tour with a final show on July 30, 2026. The announcement came two months after he filed for divorce from Bunnie Xo. Sharing the reason for taking a career break, Jelly said:
"This has truly been a lifetime experience for me. And in a couple of nights, I go to Colorado Springs and do my last show for a year or two. I’m fixing to take some time off and heal. Thank you for the opportunity."
Jelly Roll filed the divorce petition on May 18, 2026. According to the legal document, the country singer listed the date of marriage as August 30, 2016, and the date of separation as May 9, 2026. Jelly cited 'irreconcilable differences' as the reason for their split. However, social media users were not satisfied with the reason and began digging up more about the couple.
Soon, infidelity rumours swirled on the internet. On June 18, 2026, Jelly opened up about his divorce for the first time. Revealing that he had filed for divorce from Bunnie, Jelly said that he and Bunnie are best friends and always will be the same. He clarified that nobody in their relationship cheated. In his words:
"While we're talking about liars, the internet is a liar too. This is the only time and the only city I'm going to speak about this, so break your camera phones out now. My wife and I are best friends; we will always be best friends. I will love her. She will probably be the only woman I'll ever love the way I loved her. Nobody cheated on anybody."
Later, on June 19, 2026, Jelly’s daughter, Bailee, opened up about their divorce. Slamming the users who claimed that infidelity was the reason behind their split, Bailee said in a live stream:
"Nobody cheated. Period. Get the f--- out of my comments, my DMs, my live with that s---; I don’t care; I don’t want to talk about it. Y’all have no f---ing idea what happened, and wait ‘til y’all find out. The internet in totality is about to f---ing crumble the day that I open my mouth. It’s not a difference in f---ing opinions. Nobody else lived in it. So don’t f---ing even. I’m for real so done. Good? Everybody good? Are we on the same page? Cool."
Soon after their divorce news broke the internet, Bunnie XO opened up about her split from Jelly Roll on her podcast, Dumb Blonde. She also shared that Jelly had even begun dating. She said, "He is ready — raring and ready to go. He’s all hopped up on testosterone, let me tell you. He’s even started dating. I love that. His DMs are open. Daddy Roll is probably in his finest season, right? Like, I mean, the man looks great. He’s feeling himself. He looks so good. He is healthier than he’s ever been. J is a little lover, and he likes to snuggle, and he likes to cuddle."
