She shot to overnight fame due to her public sightings with the veteran actor, which sparked their affair rumours. The controversy heightened following Govinda's wife, Sunita Ahuja publicly criticising him for the affair buzz. Sunita also slammed him saying he often got entangled with much younger starlets, leading netizens to wonder how old Komal Rani Swarnkar actually was.
A lot of people thought that Komal, who looks significantly younger than Govinda might have a huge age difference from him. However, reports claimed that it wasn't true. Komal Rani Swarnkar was reportedly born in November 1969 and will turn 57 in 2026. As for Govinda, he was born on December 21, 1963 and will turn 63 in 2026.
If the reports are believed to be true, Komal is six years younger than Govinda, which is not a huge age gap for on-screen partners. For the unversed, the duo will be seen together in the upcoming film, Roopa.
Komal and Govinda sparked rumours of an affair when they were spotted together at Mumbai Airport in August 2026. The name 'Komal' took fans back to an earlier interview with Govinda's wife, Sunita Ahuja, in which she said it was the name of his startlet girlfriend. Hinting at the veteran star's extra-marital affair, Sunita stated:
"Is your name, Komal? Yeh naam thoda gadbad hai. I hate the name Komal. Change this name. There is a girl named Komal, some xyz. I hate her. The year 2025 was a disaster for me. My family life was disrupted. I was hearing things about Govinda. I was not happy with the things I was hearing about him. There is an age to do certain things, and at 63 to hear these things, it is not good, especially when your kids are grown up. In 2026, I just hope bhagwan Govinda ko sadbuddhi de."
Amid Govinda's ongoing dating buzz with Komal, he sat for an interview with ANI and broke his silence regarding it. In his interview, Govinda shared that he has always been romantically associated with his heroines, and it's nothing new to him. Govinda then thanked Komal for maintaining her silence and dignity despite her name being dragged into an affair scandal. Elaborating on the same, he said:
“Main sabka dhanyawad dena chahunga. Khaas taur pe Komal ka dhanyawad deta hun, ki aap ek shabd galat nahi keh rahi hain, aur yeh vishay se jud kar aap charcha mein aa jaayein ya prachalikta paayein, aisa aapka swabhav nahi hai. Ye jo naam le rahi Komal, mai dhanyavad deta hu ki jo mai aaj saved hu vo ek bhi shabd nahi bolti hai.”
Speaking about Komal, she is all set to mark her Bollywood debut with Govinda in the upcoming film, Roopa. The film will also mark Govinda's return to the big screen. Besides her upcoming film with Govinda, the actress is also likely to be a part of another movie titled Duniyadari. As for her background, she reportedly hails from Uttar Pradesh.
