The finale episode will stream on Amazon Prime Video at 9 P.M. Eastern Time and 6 PM Pacific Time. Season 2 of the series was aired a little differently than season 1, deterring from the pattern of releasing all episodes of the season at once; like season 1, episodes in season 2 followed a weekly release schedule. The weekly release of the episodes kept the viewers engaged and hooked to the series. The last two episodes of the series had a different scheduled time, and they were released in the evening every Tuesday, keeping the climactic reveal intact.

According to hints dropped by Walton Goggins, who portrays the 'Ghoul', the finale will not be driven only by action or spectacle. Instead, it will lean heavily into themes of family, loyalty, and purpose, offering powerful moments of emotional closure and character transformation of the leads.

In particular, the finale is rumoured to revisit the legacy of 'Robert House', a pivotal figure whose fate has long been debated by players because of the game’s multiple possible endings. While the series has so far respected the open-ended nature of the original game, the Season 2 conclusion may place greater emphasis on a version of events where 'House’s' survival and influence play a crucial role. This approach could give fans a fresh perspective on familiar events, blending established lore with new storytelling angles.

If the hints are anything to go by, the Season 2 finale of Fallout may not just conclude storylines. It could also reshape how fans see key events from the past episodes while delivering the emotional depth the series has steadily built.

What happened in season 2 episode 7, the last episode aired of season 2

Episode 7 of the series titled 'The Handoff' began with 'Stephanie Harper', portrayed by Annabel O’Hagan and a woman known as 'Joan' portayed by Natasha Henstridge, fleeing a restricted area for the Uranium City internment camp in Canada after being chased by a group of people. They escaped gunshots but found themselves under an airship and in front of a soldier in power armour, who told them to return to the camp. But before the soldier could shoot the pair, another person ran up and suicide-bombed the suited soldier. At this very moment, 'Stephanie' woke up from this nightmare back in the Vault with 'Chet' asleep beside her.

Episode 7 of the Fallout moved between past and present to reveal shocking truths about 'Stephanie' and the larger Vault-Tec plan. A memory showed 'Stephanie' escaping with another woman who was shot and told her to head south into America, survive at any cost, and stop seeing people as people. On her journey, 'Stephanie' killed for food and crossed the border by murdering a guard.

In the present, just before her wedding to 'Chet', strange signs appeared when 'Chet' found 'Woody’s' broken glasses in the sink and began doubting her story. 'Betty Pearson' secretly worked with 'Stephanie' over a water deal between Vault 32 and 33, while hiding her own suspicions. During the wedding, 'Chet' publicly accused 'Stephanie' of lying about who she was and revealed she was not born in the Vault, and was actually a 200-year-old Canadian. The Vault dwellers turned on her, and she locked herself away. Meanwhile, 'Norm' was captured by Vault 31 members for impersonating authority and tried to radio 'Lucy' for help, but failed.

At the same time, the 'Ghoul', 'Maximus', 'Thaddeus', and 'Dogmeat' travelled toward New Vegas, and the 'Ghoul' planned to reach Lucky 38 and an impenetrable Vault that also held his family. He questioned 'Maximus' about the cold fusion device, then accepted his wish to give it to 'Lucy'. Flashbacks showed 'Cooper Howard' at Lucky 38 years ago, meeting 'Stephanie' when she worked at the hotel. He later learnt that his wife 'Barb', planned to give 'Robert' House control over cold fusion in exchange for Vault-Tec’s destruction of the world.

In the present, the 'Ghoul' armed the group with old NCR power armour after convincing 'Maximus' to hand over the cold fusion, saying they needed to give it to a bad person before a good one could use it. As they entered Freeside dressed like NCR soldiers, townspeople followed them in hope. They planned to move quickly toward Lucky 38, but trouble began when 'Thaddeus' suddenly suffered a strange mutation and lost his arm, forcing the group to pause.
