It was in December 2020 that both of them were blessed with a son whom they named Rhodes. Well, three years into the relationship, Emma and Garrett had separated in January 2022. A source close to the ex-pair had told Entertainment Tonight that Emma and Garrett had stopped living together and there was also no romantic involvement. The cause of the breakup, as mentioned was:
"Their relationship has been rocky for a long time and the situation is really sad right now."
The source also revealed that Roberts and Hedlund grew apart when Garrett was away working. They were co-parenting and doing many things as a family. Both of them, according to reports, had a tumultuous relationship. They were on and off before calling it quits.
Emma always loved being a mother and has been very protective about her son. Rhodes has been her world, and her life revolves around him. She used to feel appreciative to have family and friends who supported her. According to Redditors, Emma was arrested for a domestic incident in 2013 amid her and Garrett's messy relationship. A Redditor wrote:
"She is (or at least was) a complete bitch. She severely bullied someone I knew while they were in school together in LA, to the point of verbal/mental abuse. Was just malicious and self-obsessed. A user also said, "She had big bruises on herself too. I think they both got physical, but only she got arrested. I’m glad they broke up because that’s not healthy. The relationship needs to be over as soon as arguments turn physical."
There were also discussions that Emma and Garrett used to have passionate and wild sex after heated arguments and hitting, abusing one another. A user had written that Emma and Garrett were abusive to one another, but it was edgy and hot. The comment read:

Earlier, a source close to PEOPLE had revealed that Emma and Garrett had their son during the pandemic. It was very tough for them as they were not expecting the same and tried their best to figure things out. Garrett totally stepped it up after Emma was still recovering after giving birth. He made sure that their house was stocked with things that Emma liked and needed so she felt comfortable. She's just starting to get back into a more ‘normal’ routine.
