Divyaa Agarwal has been making headlines because of her personal life for some time now. For the unversed, there has been constant chatter about Divyaa Agarwal hitting a rough patch in her marriage with Apurva Padgaonkar for the past few weeks. The controversy began when Divyaa’s fellow contestant on The 50, Bhavya Singh, revealed that she doesn’t live with her husband, Apurva. She called Divyaa Agarwal a 'gold digger'. In a recent interview, she gave a befitting response to the trolls who criticised her for marrying Apurva for money.
In an interview with the Free Press Journal, Divyaa Agarwal opened up about being called 'gold digger', a label often directed at her on social media. Divyaa shared that she doesn’t mind people calling her a 'gold digger'. She explained that as she found the right partner, things don’t bother her. She added that her lifestyle never hinted at something lavish, and thus it’s foolish of the people who criticised her online. She was quoted as saying:
"If you call me a gold digger, I am actually okay with it, or even a diamond digger for that matter. When it comes to my husband and having the right partner in my life, I am pretty much successful. He is the gold I was trying to dig for all my life, and I found him. How can people be so stupid? Where is my Lamborghini? Where is my bungalow next to Juhu Beach? Where am I stepping out of my private jet? I am doing none of that. I travel economy. So where is all of that?"
In the same interview, Divyaa got candid about her current equation with her husband, Apurva. She addressed the buzz around the couple living separately. During the conversation, Divyaa called 'staying separately' a beautiful concept. Divyaa explained that both she and her husband, have no intention to embrace parenthood. She was quoted as saying:
"Staying separately is such a beautiful concept I will tell you very honestly. I am a person who loves my space. And same goes with my husband who loves his space. So, for him involving someone into his space you know when he had no intentions to get married and settle down. We have no intentions to have babies. So, it was a very beautiful decision took by us where I will stay in a separate space. He’ll stay in a separate space. There was a point in life when we used to stay together."
In one of the episodes of The 50, Bhavya Singh made some shocking claims surrounding Divyaa Agarwal and Apurva Padgaonkar's marriage. She called Divyaa a 'fake woman' and 'gold digger'. Bhavya mentioned that earlier, Divyaa stated that she won’t do any reality show after winning Bigg Boss OTT 1. She mentioned that there is trouble in Divyaa’s marital paradise, and the couple has been living separately for some time now. Bhavya was quoted as saying:
"Aap record par dekhna ke kabhi reality show karoge? Bolti hai no, I won't. I have won Bigg Boss. Kya ukhad liya tumne... saari PR karake aur spotting kara kare ke, thoda dikh jaati ho. Diwali par asli phatake toh iske ghar par poothe the, aur maine phode the Aur aaj tak maine kabhi bola nahi woh... aur na kabhi podcast par na kabhi kuch. Kabhi bolungi bhi nahi... kyunki inka khud ka aapsi parivaarik maamla tha.. usmein mujhe involve kar diya in logon ne. Bheek maangte hain logon se Mumbai mein ke mere ghar aajao... aap mere paas aajao, please milo mujhse...alag rehti hai apne pati se."
