Add BollywoodShaadis on GoogleCountry music star Colt Ford recently shared an update about his life. The musician told fans that he had been in a bus accident which left him injured. However, did you know this is not the first time Ford has faced a life-threatening incident? The musician almost died TWICE in 2024. Let's take a look at what happened.
Before the recent bus accident, Colt Ford found himself in a life-threatening situation back in 2024. According to reports, the country musician had a near-fatal heart attack two years ago at a show in Gilbert, Arizona. According to a report by Mayo Clinic, Ford had shared that he almost died twice that day. He recalled how the doctor told him that he was lucky to have survived such an incident and said:
"I couldn't have been any more on death's door. I died twice that day. When one of the top heart doctors in the world looks at you and goes, 'You're 1 per cent of 1 per cent,' it can't get more dire than that."
In April 2024, he appeared on the Big D & Bubba radio show, where he revealed that he has no recollection of his set at Dierks Bentley's Whiskey Row. He remembered walking back to the bus and texting his then-fiancée, Megan, before he was found slumped over in a chair. Ford went into cardiac arrest twice, once at the venue, and then again on the way to another hospital.
Colt Ford underwent a 10-hour surgery and was placed in a medically induced coma for a while. He shared that the health scare was "life-changing, spiritually changing, and obviously physically changing." The incident has also been mentioned on his website, where his team refers to the "experience of dying and being brought back to life as otherworldly". Recalling the incident, the musician told Mayo Clinic:
"I woke up eight days later, and I couldn't pick up a cup with ice in it and feed it to myself. [The heart attack] changed my perspective and outlook on lots of things. I can't even tell you. Live every day like it’s your last because one day it will be."
Country music star Colt Ford has now opened up about a tour bus accident that left him severely injured. Taking to his social media account on August 12, 2026 (ET), Ford revealed that the accident left him with a broken shoulder. The musician recalled how "one minute" he and his crew were headed to a show in Germany and preparing for a single release. He penned:
"One minute you’re headed to Germany for a show and prepping for a single release; the next thing you know, your Bus is in the ditch, and you’re getting pulled through a windshield with a broken shoulder by First Responders. The crew is a little banged up, but we’re all still here."
Colt Ford has not shared any updates since. However, the musician is scheduled to perform at Tailgate X in Ballenstedt, Germany, on August 15, 2026, and at the Iowa State Fairgrounds on August 19, 2026. Nonetheless, whether he will perform at the show is still unclear.
We wish Colt Ford a speedy recovery.
