Supermodel Cindy Crawford and her husband, Rande Gerber, are navigating the hardest phase of life, as reports claim that their 27-year-old son, Presley Gerber, has passed away. TMZ reported that Presley died at a rehab facility on September 20, 2026. Presley was the only son of Cindy and Rande, and the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner revealed the news about his death.

Following this, Presley's family, in a statement to TMZ, confirmed the tragic passing of Cindy Crawford's son, and asked for time to navigate this tough time. Presley had been open about his addiction issues and mental health struggles, and he often talked about the pressure of growing up in the public eye.

Regarding the cause of death, nothing has been officially confirmed yet, and an autopsy report awaits. Presley's death came after a history of mental health and drug abuse issues. The official cause of Presley's death has not yet been disclosed. Confirming his passing, the grieving family, in a statement to TMZ, said:

"The family is asking for privacy during this very difficult and painful time."

Presley Gerber's struggle with addiction and mental health

It was only two years ago when Cindy and Rande's then-25-year-old son, Presley, opened up about his major opiate addiction. For the unversed, Presley was also in a coma for several days after experiencing a near-fatal fentanyl overdose. In a now-deleted IG video back in December 2025, Presley opened up about his struggles. He claimed to have been to at least 15 different psychiatrists, who, according to him, heavily prescribed him medication without leading him to a structured way of recovery. 

Presley struggled with addiction; however, last year in December, he revealed that he was sober from alcohol, claiming that he last drank in July 2025. He also talked about being on depressant medications like Buprenorphine, Xanax, and Valium, which he used to treat his panic attacks when they were 'really, really bad'. 

Presley Gerber began his career at the age of 15 when he was signed by IMG Models. He made his runway debut at a Moschino show in 2016. Following this, Presley went on to collaborate with world-famous brands including Dolce & Gabbana, Calvin Klein, and more. In the 2025 video, Presley also talked about taking a step back from the glamour world. Sharing that there are people in the industry whom he loved but wished not to be around at that time, Presley said:

“I’ve grown up in Hollywood, and there are a lot of people around me that I love to death, but right now I try not to be around them."

Apart from his struggles with addiction and mental health, it was in 2019 when he made headlines after being arrested for DUI. He was arrested for speeding in Beverly Hills, California, and was sentenced to three years of probation, community service, and a DUI program. The older brother of Kaia Gerber tattooed his face with the term 'MISUNDERSTOOD' following his DUI arrest; however, he removed it within a year.

Apart from his modeling career, Presley Gerber was also a vocal advocate for mental health awareness and addiction recovery. Speaking about mental health issues, Presley, once in an interview on the Studio22 podcast, said:

"[Mental health] is an issue. It is such a big part of my life. It’s a 24/7 job, and there’s so much to it. That’s really what I want to do: help people, whether you’re depressed, you’re struggling with something that is having a negative effect on your body. I mean it could be anything, and there’s no judgment.”
