According to local reports, Dylan Carter passed away in a car accident in Colleton County, South Carolina, on April 25, 2026. Authorities revealed that it was a single-car crash. But the exact details about the accident have not been revealed to the public. In fact, investigators have not released any more details about what might have caused the crash. The news of Carter's death was first confirmed by Moncks Corner Mayor Thomas Hamilton Jr., who shared an emotional tribute for Dylan on Facebook. Calling the singer a close friend, he penned:

"Our family is heartbroken to hear about the passing of Dylan Carter in a car accident. As a gifted singer, he frequently entertained our community with his performances at Town events. His kindness and charm earned him immense respect, and his absence will be deeply felt."

Dylan did what he loved the most in the final days leading to his death. He actively performed and prepared for his upcoming music appearances. Moreover, the young singer was scheduled to perform at Moncks Corner's "Music On Main" event on April 27, 2026. However, the event had to be cancelled due to Dylan's death. At the same time, his final social media post showcased Dylan smiling at his recent performance in South Carolina. The 24-year-old mentioned in the caption that he preferred singing on a flatbed trailer to a big stage to stay connected to his local roots.

Dylan Carter's familial bond was at the centre of his emotional story 

When Dylan Carter first performed in the blind auditions on The Voice in 2023, he sang, I Look to You. It was an emotional performance and a special tribute to his late mother, Julie, who passed away in 2022. At that time, he shared that his mother wanted him to sing the song at her funeral, but he was too emotional to finish it. Dylan's story deeply moved the judges. On the other hand, all four coaches, including Reba McEntire, Niall Horan, John Legend and Gwen Stefani, turned their chairs.
