In a post-match interview, the 28-year-old golfer mentioned having "dreamed" of a moment like that for a long time, as they had been unable to attend his 2025 Wyndham Championship final match. He stated:
"I've dreamed of having that moment with them for a long time. Last year at the Wyndham Championship happened to be one of three weeks that they missed all of last year, so they were celebrating 2,500 miles away."
Cameron was overjoyed to get to see his better half and their little kids right after his post-match interview. Hugging his boys, seeing Kelsey and their daughter was one of the best feelings for Cameron. According to him, that was what made his win even more memorable and he would remember the experience "for a long time." His exact words were:
"So to get to see them after I did my interviews...actually give my boys a hug and see my wife and my little girl, it's something that I'll remember for a long time."

They knew each other as children since Cameron played hockey on Kelsey's father's team and was teammates with her brother. The couple's friendship blossomed into romance while both were students at Wake Forest University. They got engaged in 2019, just as he was turning professional in golf.
