'Bigg Boss Tamil 9' contestant, Nandhini, left the show hosted by Vijay Sethupathi on the fifth day. Here's the reason behind her exit.
Bigg Boss Tamil 9 is gearing up for its grand finale. Just a few more hours are left for the host, Vijay Sethupathi, to declare the winner. For the unversed, the grand finale of Bigg Boss Tamil 9 is scheduled for January 18, 2026. The four contestants who made it to the finale are Aurora Sinclair, Sabarinathan (Sabari), Vikkals Vikram, and Divya Ganesan. Amid the high buzz surrounding its grand finale, let’s have a look back at when Nandhini quit the show midway.
Nandhini is a social media influencer and TV anchor. She joined the Bigg Boss Tamil 9 house and became one of the most-talked-about contestants of the show. However, her journey was cut short as she exited the show on the fifth day. Before quitting the show, Nandhini had a huge fight with fellow contestant, Kani Thiru. 'Bigg Boss' intervened during the heated exchange and called an overwhelmed Nandhini to the confession room.
Nandhini was provided medical attention and emotional support. Following this, Nandhini exited Bigg Boss Tamil 9. She cited emotional exhaustion and mental stress as the main reasons for quitting the show midway. On the fourth day, Nandhini had an acute mental breakdown. She was upset with her fellow contestants and accused them of being fake. She was quoted as saying:
"I want to leave this place, which is filled with fake people. I can't be as fake as you people. You can't question what I show to people. I have yearned to be loved. I am not the person who is willing to act lovey-dovey to impress everyone and earn their trust. If you want the title, then be real and fight for it. I want to exit the house."
On the second day of BB Tamil 9, Nandhini broke down in tears, recalling her struggles during the 'BB Storytelling' challenge. Nandhini revealed that she lost her father in childhood and was raised by her mother. Later, her mother also passed away, leaving her and her brother alone. She was quoted as saying:
"In my childhood, my father died, and I was raised by my mother. Later, my mother also passed away, leaving me and my brother alone."
According to a Wikipedia page, Divya Ganesan is the alleged winner of Bigg Boss Tamil 9. In fact, the page claimed Sabarinathan (Sabari) is the first runner-up, and Aurora is the second runner-up. The official confirmation is yet to be revealed. Divya entered the house as the wild card contestant.
Vijay Sethupathi hosted show, Bigg Boss Tamil 9, premiered on October 5, 2025. The show started with 20 contestants, including Diwakar, Aurora Sinclair, FJ Adisayam, VJ Parvathy, Tushaar, Kani Thiru, Sabari Nadhan, Pravin Gandhi, Vyishali Kemkar, Aadhiri, Ramya Joo, Gana Vinoth, Vinaya, Praveen Rajdev, Subiksha Kumar, Apsara CJ, Vikkals Vikram, Nandhini R, Kamrudin, and Kalaiyarasan. Later, 4 contestants, including Divya Ganesan, joined BB Tamil 9, as the wild card entrants.
Currently, Aurora Sinclair, Sabarinathan (Sabari), Vikkals Vikram, and Divya Ganesan are locked inside the house and are competing against each other to win the show. Within just a few more hours, host, Vijay Sethupathi will declare the BB Tamil 9 winner and will hand over Rs. 50 lakh along with the trophy. While the fans are rooting for their favourite contestants, it is Divya Ganesan who is leading the voting trends. The grand finale of Bigg Boss Tamil 9 is all set to premiere on January 18, 2026, at 6 pm. The show will air on Vijay Television and JioHotstar.
