Ever since, Arijit announced his retirement from playback, speculations were rife that he took such a drastic decision due to toxic studio culture. Armaan shared that he and Arijit met multiple times at his brother, Amaal’s recording studio, so he was quite sure that the Tum Hi Ho singer took retirement from playback not because of toxic studio culture. He was quoted as saying:
"I think as another singer in the industry, I can't comment on why Ariji took that step because I also know him as a brother. We've met multiple times at Amaal's recording studio because he's recorded a bunch of songs for my brother as well. And I've been part of those recording sessions. So I would definitely say it's not because of any toxic studio culture. I don't think I've ever had a toxic studio experience in my careet at least. But obviously I cannot say why he may have taken a decision like he did, because that's his personal choice."

"He's given a lot to this industry. I don't think it's fair for us to speculate as to why he may have taken that step. I think he has given us some of the best songs in the last decade. Even if he feels he has called it quits on playback singing, I think he's left on a beautiful high. I see it in a very positive light. I don't think that anything toxic could have happened that could have prompted him to do that."
