Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt's divorce battle turned extremely ugly when details about their marital life falling apart surfaced. In a court filing, Angelina Jolie allegedly stated that Brad Pitt tried to abuse her physically. He had grabbed her by her head and shaken her. Not only this, he claimed that he even choked one of their children and struck another one who came to protect her.
Angelina bared her heart during a cross-complaint filed by Jolie in the couple's dispute over a French home and winery, which they co-owned. The allegations of abuse first made headlines shortly after the flight that they had taken in 2016. But the details were initially kept sealed. However, the FBI and the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family revealed that no investigation against Brad Pitt was needed.
As per The New York Times, in the filing, Angelina Jolie highlighted the incident that happened on September 14, 2016, when the ex-couple was travelling with their six children from the winery, Chateau Miraval, to Los Angeles. The filing stated that Brad Pitt's aggressive behaviour started even before the family reached the airport, as he had a confrontation with one of their children.
After the flight took off, Angelina approached Brad to know what was happening. He accused her of being 'too deferential' to the children and verbally slammed her. The filing also stated that Brad pulled her into the bathroom and began yelling at her. He grabbed her head and shook her again before pushing her into the bathroom wall. The filing said:
"Pitt's aggressive behaviour started even before the family got to the airport, with Pitt having a confrontation with one of the children. After the flight took off, Jolie approached Pitt and asked him what was wrong. Pitt accused her of being too deferential to the children and verbally attacked her. He pulled her into the bathroom and began yelling at her. Pitt grabbed Jolie by the head and shook her, and then grabbed her shoulders and shook her again before pushing her into the bathroom wall."
However, at that time, one of the children, who was between 8 and 15 years of age, tried to protect Jollie. However, Brad Pitt allegedly lunged at his own children, and when Angelina tried to stop him, he pushed backwards into the plane's seats, which injured the actress's back and elbow. The filing further revealed that the children rushed into and tried to protect. each other, before it was over, Brad choked one of the children and struck another in the face. The filing stated:
"Pitt lunged at his own child and Jolie grabbed him from behind to stop him. To get Jolie off his back, Pitt threw himself backwards into the airplane's seats injuring Jolie's back and elbow. The children rushed in and all bravely tried to protect each other. Before it was over, Pitt choked one of the children and struck another in the face."
In the court documents, Angelina further revealed that after the incident, Brad poured beer on her and red wine on the kids. It was later revealed that criminal charges in the case cannot be pursued due to various factors. For the unversed, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie were the power couple of Hollywood for 12 years and are blessed with six children. They dated for over a decade. But things changed after they got married in 2014, and their relationship fell apart.
