Amy Madigan’s character, 'Aunt Gladys,' was the person who was involved in the case of the 17 missing children from Maybrook Elementary School in Weapons. She was a parasitic witch, introduced as a family member of 'Alex.' 'Gladys' used to drain the life of everyone else to ensure her own survival, and her return to 'Alex’s' family members after 15 years was a way out for her to survive a terminal illness, which was supposed to lead to her death. 'Gladys' also bewitches 'Alex’s' parents and is eventually killed by the abducted kids at the end of the film after 'Alex' replicates her spell.
