'American Idol' Season 24 Top 7 Revealed After 'Disney Night', Here's Who Made It And Who Went Home

'American Idol' Season 24 is extremely close to crowning its winner, and fans have been on the edge of their seats about it. So, as the competition gets tougher, let's take a look at our Top 7.

American Idol is one of the most-loved reality shows. The singing competition has given the world some phenomenal voices. The show first aired in June 2002 and has since become one of the most-watched singing competitions. Lauded for its massive platform and production, the show returned for Season 24 earlier in 2026, and now the finale is around the corner. Amid that, the recent episode has revealed the Top 7 who will race to the finale for the win.

American Idol Season 24 reveals its Top 7

American Idol Season 24's Monday, April 20, 2026 (ET) episode came with the Top 9 competing for their spot in the Top 7. The contestants took on iconic Disney songs as America voted live to keep their favourite singer in the running for the grand prize. After last week's Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Night, Hannah Harper was once again the one to beat, earning the top spot, keeping her winning streak alive. However, Disney Night had a special guest guiding the contestants.

It was EGOT winner and American Idol Season 3 alum, Jennifer Hudson, who mentors the artists on Disney songs. The gorgeous singer famously delivered one of the most memorable performances of her season, singing Circle of Life from The Lion King. At the time, Elton John called it his "favourite performance out of the whole lot" and said Jennifer "sent chills up my spine." More than 20 years later, the musician returned to share her lessons and skills with the Top 9 to help them up their game in the race to the finale.

What happened on American Idol Season 24 previously?

Last week, American Idol Season 24 took a rock and roll turn with its Rock & Roll Hall of Fame night. The episode led us to meet our Top 9, after 11 contestants took on iconic hits from legendary inductees, with mentors Pat Benatar and Neil Giraldo guiding the singers through the live show. However, at the end of the night, America showed its verdict on who made them groove and who left them feeling half-hearted. After eleven stellar performances, Rae and Philmon Lee received the fewest votes and were eliminated from the competition, officially setting the Top 9 for Disney Night on April 20, 2026.

What happened during the American Idol Season 24's Disney Night?

The Disney Night on American Idol Season 24 featured some stellar performances by our Top 9. It began with Gallatin, Tennessee-based singer Leon performing a song from the film, Cars. The 18-year-old chose Life Is a Highway for his performance, leaving the judges feeling full of Joy. The performance was followed by Branden Rumfelt, who sang the song, Remember Me from the film, Coco. The 22-year-old from Murphy won over the judges with his performance, with Luke saying, "That was a challenging, tricky song. That was tender. You did a great job creating the mood."

The 27-year-old Moss Point singer, Daniel Stallworth, also channelled his inner magician and performed A Whole New World from Aladdin. His soothing voice made the judges feel the performance to their core, with Lionel calling it a sermon and God's gift to the listeners, while Jennifer admitted that it felt like he had "ministered it, owned it, and I felt it". The audience has had immense hopes for Hannah Harper since the very beginning, and she once again delivered on her promise. The 25-year-old Willow Springs girlie performed Almost There from The Princess and the Frog, and in the words of Luke, "it made my heart smile".

The next performance was by Chris Tungseth, a 27-year-old Fergus Falls native, who performed the popular song from Frozen. Chris performed the song, Let It Go and rightfully won over the audience and the judges, leaving them surprised by his choice of song. The performance was followed by Keyla Richardson. The Pensacola-based singer performed Circle of Life from The Lion King, and the judges definitely heard her roar as Lionel said, "Let the congregation say Amen!".

Next up was Brooks, the 22-year-old from Bel Air, who chose The Climb from Hannah Montana: The Movie to perform for his bit of Disney Night. The singer left the judges feeling impressed with Carrie saying, "I'm so proud. Each week, you get more comfortable with the gift that you have." The performance was followed by Jordan McCullough, who performed Colours of the Wind from the film, Pocahontas. The last performance of the evening was by Kyndal, who also chose a song from Hannah Montana: The Movie, Butterfly Fly Away.

Who was eliminated after the Disney Night?

After nine phenomenal performances, Ryan finally revealed the Top 7 for American Idol Season 24. Based on America's votes, two contestants were sent home. The singers who were eliminated were Kyndal and Lucas. The revelation about the Top 7 have set the stage for the next episode performances, which will feature the contestants taking on songs from Taylor Swift's discography as America chooses their Top 5.
