Ajit Pawar, along with four others, died in a shocking aeroplane crash just before landing. The flight attendant, Pinky Mali's father recalls her last words.
The nation is mourning the loss of Maharashtra's Deputy CM, Ajit Pawar, in an air crash. Along with him, four others lost their lives, and one of them was a 29-year-old cabin crew member, Pinky Mali. She was on board as a flight attendant for Ajit Pawar's aircraft. The 29-year-old Pinky Mali is survived by her parents, elder sister and husband.
Pinky Mali's father, Shiv Kumar Mali, couldn't believe his ears when he saw the news of his daughter's demise. He revealed that he had last called her on January 27, 2026. She had told him that she was going to Baramati with Ajit Pawar. And after dropping him, she would travel to Nanded. Pinky told him that she would call him after getting a hotel. Pinky Mali's father was quoted as saying:
"Kal bolna hua tha, kal mera unse baatcheet hua ki Baramati Ajit dada ke saath ja rahi hoon aur Ajit dada ko chor ke mai Nanded chali jaungi. Aur jab mai hotel mein shift hogi toh mai apse baat karungi. Itna hi bola."
Pinky's father further revealed that he got the news of her death early morning when he learnt about Ajit Pawar's aircraft crash, which flashed on television. He revealed that when his daughter's name also appeared in the breaking news, he realised that he had lost her forever. He was quoted as saying:
"She told me she was going to Baramati with Ajit Pawar and from there would travel to Nanded. She left early this morning. I learnt about the incident when news of Ajit Pawar’s aircraft crash appeared on television. When my daughter’s name flashed on breaking news, we realised we had lost her."
For the unversed, Pinky Mali was married and lived in Pune with her husband. While the name of her husband is not known, he works as a manager in a private firm. The father is hoping to know what caused the accident. They know that there is a black box in the aircraft and they would find the exact reason for the crash after investigation. He stated that it could be a technical fault, but they had lost their daughter forever.
The father further revealed that his daughter had dreamt of being a cabin crew member for a very long time. He stated that in 1989, he used to work as a dry cleaner at the Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi, where he lost his job after a mistake in an aircraft carrying Prime Minister VP Singh. Despite apologising, he didn't get the job back. He would often narrate the incident to his daughter, who would say that she would fulfil his dream. After completing her schooling in English Medium, Pinky chose to work as a cabin crew member. She had earlier worked with a domestic airline for three years and then joined the private carrier.
Our heartfelt condolence to Pinky Mali's family in these extremely tough times.
