“This is pure negligence — a young woman trusted them with her life, and they threw her off without a cord. She survived the fall long enough to speak, then died. Heartbreaking. Arrests are a start, but real justice means shutting down these reckless operations for good. RIP Maria.
Safety isn’t optional.”

Three staff members have been arrested in the bungee jumper's death

As per reports, three staff members of the bungee jump company called Entre Cordas have been arrested by the police after Maria's tragic death at 21. These staff members include Luis Felipe Feliciano Egoroff, 32, Victor de Freitas Gonçalves, 27, and Maicon Fernandes Cintra, 42. After Maria fell to her death, reports claim that the staff members tried to flee from the area before the ambulance or police could arrive. However, they were eventually arrested, and when taken to court, one of the accused, Egoroff, claimed he changed his clothes after the incident because they were wet, not to flee. He said:

"My shirt was already wet… it was very dirty, I went to the car and put on a clean one. The rescue team arrived with the equipment, and I got out and went up the trail. I went to the car, changed my shirt and went to the middle of the bridge. That’s when the police arrived with guns drawn and then it hit me. We’re here. Nobody ran."
