Question
Our wedding is just around the corner and our relationship is going downhill. My fiancée and I are constantly fighting about the wedding and he just can’t stand how things are. We used to agree on everything and hardly ever argued for the past 3 years that we have known each other. I am feeling very stressed too. What should we do?
Answer
"If two people agree on everything, then one person is not necessary in the relationship!" Well that’s a quote but definitely a piece of relationship advice you can use right now. Planning a wedding is a very stressful time in any couple's life and arguments are bound to follow when you have trouble planning wedding. However, assuming that you never argued before and you are arguing more as the wedding nears is unnecessary. You did not have to host a party for over 500 people anytime before your wedding, did you? Just as you learnt the art of compromise for all major life’s decisions, you need to learn it ahead of your wedding too. If you have not discussed the problem you are having, do it right now. Try to understand each other’s point of view and contribute possible solutions (not necessarily the ones that favor you!). Also if it is the “planning” which is stressing both of you, it is best to hire a wedding planner to take care of all the wedding planning. Wedding plan trouble is common but a planner will help put both of you at ease immediately. And there is money to be saved through the services of a wedding planner too.
