After the release of her film, Love Story, Vijayta Pandit was linked to her co-star, Kumar Gaurav. Rumours had it that the duo was so serious about each other, that they were even thinking of getting married. However, Kumar Gaurav’s father, Rajendra Kumar was against their alliance. Since both Vijayta and Kumar Gaurav didn’t want to go against their family, they decided to part ways mutually.
In 1986, Vijayta starred in the film, Car Thief and got married to the director of the film, Sameer Malkan. However, the relationship didn’t work out due to reasons best known to them, and the couple got divorced.
After her separation from Sameer Malkan, Vijayta Pandit got married to music composer, Aadesh Shrivastava in 1990. The couple embraced parenthood with the arrival of their kids, Anivesh and Avitesh. In 2010, Aadesh was diagnosed with Multiple myeloma and underwent chemotherapy. In 2015, Vijayta’s world turned upside down when Aadesh bid adieu to the world at the age of 51. Aadesh’s untimely death had devastated Vijayta, who had raised her children single-handedly.
After Aadesh Shrivastava’s death, Vijayta faced a lot of financial turbulence. In an interview with the Times of India, Vijayta recalled how she had felt depressed after her husband’s death and had said:
“I became very lonely and depressed after he passed away, and also faced financial crisis, but did not ask for help from anyone. My husband, too, had never asked for financial help, even when he was sick. Aadesh was a very loving and caring husband and treated me like a princess. He gave me all the comforts of life. Our marriage even proved lucky for us--Aadesh became the number one music composer after we got married.”
In the same interview, Vijayta also spoke about spending all the money on Aadesh’s treatment and had stated:
“Unfortunately, he fell ill and all the money that he had earned was spent on his treatment. Aadesh even sold his expensive car for Rs 1 crore so that we could travel to London, USA, and Canada for his treatment. Later, even I had to sell the car that Aadesh had gifted me on my birthday.”
After Aadesh’s death, Vijayta faced a lot of financial struggles, while raising her two sons. At that time, it was reported that many B-town celebs came forward to help her. But she got the royalties of her late husband’s musical work. Talking about the same, she had said:
“My husband never asked anyone for money and as his wife, I will keep that respect. Luckily for me, I started getting royalty money from all of Aadesh's music work so was able to manage my house.”
