Legendary actress, Rekha's personal life was not a bed of roses. From being rejected by her father, Gemini Ganesan as a legitimate child to her tragic married life with her husband, Mukesh Aggarwal to facing huge criticisms for being head-over-heels in love with an already-married man, Amitabh Bachchan. Not only that, as per multiple reports, Rekha and Amitabh were also in a relationship until his wife, Jaya Bachchan had taken a huge step to save their marriage. And Simi Garewal, who is known for hosting her chat show, Rendezvous with Simi Garewal, once made Rekha open up about her relationship on national TV. Later, in an interview, she revealed the real reasons and how she could easily make that happen.
It happened when Rekha once graced Simi Garewal's chat show, Rendezvous with Simi Garewal, and the duo talked in length about various anecdotes of their lives. During the conversation, the show's host, Simi asked Bollywood’s Umrao Jaan if she was in love with Amitabh Bachchan. Soon, came Rekha's reply, "Absolutely! Duh, that's a dumb question!" Then, Rekha also went on to generalise her statement and said:
"I'm yet to come across a man, woman, child, who can't help but fall completely, passionately, insanely, desperately and especially, hopelessly, in love with him. So why should I be singled out? You want to know the truth? There was never a personal connection with him. That's the truth. What do I deny? I'm not in love with him? Of course, I am. Duniya bhar ka love aap le lijiyega and add some more - I feel that for that person. Bottomline."

Well, Rekha's quintessential revelation shot keeps surfacing on social media and never misses a chance to trend on the internet. Thus, in an interview with The Indian Express, Simi was asked about her trick through which she could very easily make Rekha open up and confess her love for Amitabh. To this, Simi Garewal mentioned that despite doing nothing special for Rekha, the legendary actress revealed the truth. In reality, the two old friends were just chatting since they go back a long way. Simi responded:
“It was easy asking her the question about Amitabh. If I can ask Jayalalithaa if she had ever loved MGR, asking Rekha about Amitabh was much easier. A lot of people ask me how I got her to open up. I don’t know if I did anything special. I don’t want to analyse it. I just chatted as good friends. Rekha and I go back a long way.”
Returning to the same episode of Simi Garewal's popular chat show, Rendezvous with Simi Garewal, Simi also asked Rekha if she would ever consider remarriage. To this, Rekha counter-questioned the host, and asked if she meant getting married to a man. To this, Simi was taken aback by such a remark and replied, "Well, not a woman obviously." However, Rekha too sharply answered:
“Why not? In my mind, I am married to myself, my profession and my loved ones. I am not a cynical person.”

But Simi didn't miss the chance to confess her true feelings while talking about marriage with her extremely close friend, Rekha. The host mentioned the commonly accepted fact that it is only in a man's hands to provide a sense of security to a woman who does not feel so. And so, a woman feeling secure is the work of a man only. However, to this remark, Rekha took an immediate retort and said:
"Not necessarily, it has got nothing to do with a man. It has to do with the person she is.”
