Saif Ali Khan has always been a proud father, and he has often talked about how his rapport is different with his kids. Whether it is talking about Sara and Ibrahim’s career choices or his discomfort of Taimur being constantly papped, Saif has always been open about his kids. In a recent interview, Saif Ali Khan's amma and veteran actress, Sharmila Tagore, revealed the one change she observed in her son in all these years.
In an interview with ETimes, Sharmila Tagore revealed the drastic change in Saif and said, "I saw Yeh Dillagi and even his old interviews were so funny. He has become a mature person. He is the father of four kids and has become an excellent chef. He has developed good hobbies like reading. He is a good father and cooks well."
Sharmila has not yet met her grandchild, Jehangir, due to the Coronavirus pandemic. Dadi Sharmila, who is not been able to travel long distances due to health issues is keeping in touch with Jeh over video calls. The veteran actress also revealed how eager she is to meet the newborn.
When Sharmila Tagore had turned 75 on December 8, 2019, Saif Ali Khan, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Soha Ali Khan, Kunal Kemmu, along with their little prince and princess, Taimur Ali Khan and Inaaya Naumi Kemmu, had headed off to Ranthambore, Rajasthan to celebrate her birthday. Soha had shared a picture from the same and had written, “With so many people in one frame it’s impossible to get a shot where everyone’s eyes are open (sorry bhai) or where everyone is looking at the camera - Tim and Inni have eyes only for the cake! Happy Birthday Amman 08.12.19 #sherbagh.”
In a throwback interview with the DNA, Sharmila Tagore had opened up about how she was not there for Saif in his growing years. During the conversation, she had mentioned how Saif's 'second mother' had helped her a lot in his upbringing. She was quoted as saying, “I wasn’t there as much for Saif as I was for Soha and Saba as I wasn’t working so much then. I was very busy during Saif’s time and when he was growing up."
Revealing how she couldn't get time for Saif's day-to-day work, Sharmila had stated, "I was doing double shifts, but I did have the support of my husband and also my neighbour Sunita Goswami, who also happened to be teaching at Saif’s Bohri-run school Saifee Mahal, which was a wonderful school run by Mrs Noorani. She was Saif’s second mother and she and her husband Jatin looked after him a lot. I was there for all his milestones, but I really wasn’t there for his day-to-day work. When the girls were born, I was less busy.”
Saif and Kareena had welcomed Jehangir Ali Khan on February 21, 2021.
