However, towards the end of the event, Shah Rukh once again told Mani Ratnam that he was pretty serious about the idea of working with him as he joked, saying, "Thank you, Mani sir, for the film! March, I'll be there sir. Morning shift, 2 am." As soon as their interaction made its way to the internet, pictures of them from the sets of Dil Se.., started doing rounds on social media.

Shah Rukh Khan and Mani Ratnam's Dil Se.. crashed at the box office but became a filmmaking masterclass in the coming years

It was back in August 1998 when Dil Se.. was released in India, and despite having a stellar star cast including Shah Rukh Khan, Manisha Koirala, Preity Zinta, Sanjay Mishra, Piyush Mishra, and many more, it failed to make an impact at the box-office. However, years later, the film started getting its due when the Indian audience evolved a bit and started liking movies without a glitzy storyline. Dil Se.. was indeed a film ahead of its time, but as of now, it is considered as one of the films that every aspiring cinema student should watch. From cinematography to acting and Mani Ratnam's layered storyline, Dil Se.. is one of the finest films ever made in India.
