Amitabh Bachchan has been hitting the headlines lately, as the netizens claimed that Big B could easily promote his grandson, Agastya Nanda's upcoming debut film and heaped praise on him, whereas he could never post anything for his bahu, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. For the unversed, Amitabh Bachchan's grandson, Agastya, is all set to make his debut with Zoya Akhtar's film, The Archies. Beforehand the release of the film, Big B took his IG handle and penned a note to cheer for the former. However, it didn't go well with the netizens, who started slamming Big B for not doing the same for Aishwarya. Now a throwback interview of Rekha went viral where she heaped praises on Aishwarya, making it the centre of all attraction.
After Amitabh Bachchan was slammed on Reddit, for never praising his daughter-in-law, Aishwarya, an old interview of Rekha is now shared on the same platform. In the old interview, Rekha showered Aishwarya with immense praise. Rekha said that Aishwarya is the best and even mentioned that she would fight for Aishwarya if she needed to. In the same interview, she also added that Aishwarya doesn't need to go to Hollywood to prove herself as she is our treasure. Rekha could be quoted as saying:
"Among the models I admire, I find Aishwarya is the best. I disagree with the media that she is 'plastic'. I find her very expressive. I will fight for her like a tigress if need be. My heart goes out to Ash. She's been around for so long and yet not been there. That's how it was with me…until I did Umrao. It seemed improbable that a Tamilan girl talking Urdu would work. Similarly this South Indian girl should realize her potential in Umrao. She doesn't need to go to Hollywood to prove herself. She's our own. Why Bride & Prejudice? Who are these people from outside trying to tap Ash's potential? She's our treasure. It's time we acknowledge her."

As soon as the old interview of Rekha, where she opened up about Aishwarya, was shared on Reddit, netizens started taking a dig at the Bachchan family. Reacting to Rekha's words on Aishwarya, one user wrote, "Wow!! The praise Aishwarya’s in-laws should have done is done by Rekha Ma’am and how beautifully. She deserves Rekha not Jaya." Another comment can be read as "The sasuma Ash deserves." A social user took it to the comment section and wrote, "She’s so real for this. I like that she’s advocating for meaningful characters for someone as glamorous as Ash."
A few days back, Big B posted a picture of his daughter, Shweta, and his friend, the late Rajesh Khanna's daughter, Twinkle Khanna. Along with the post he penned a sweet note for Agastya and it took down the internet with love. However, a certain section remained unimpressed and started slamming Amitabh for not heaping praise on his bahu, Aishwarya. A netizen shared the post on Reddit and said that Big B's priorities are clear. His note could be read as:
"Amit Ji couldn't post for Aish, on her possible biggest films of career. But here posting a picture of Twinkle Khanna and Shweta Nanda so he can connect the dots and hype Agastya's upcoming film Archies to his 34.5 millions followers. Nana ji ki priorities clear hai."

One of the most talked about topics in B-town has been the relationship rumours between Rekha and Amitabh Bachchan. Although the duo never really accepted or talked about it. However, it's been said that the duo fell in love with each other on the set of their film, Do Anjaane in 1976, and during that time, Big B was already married to Jaya. Although Big B never accepted his romantic relationship with Rekha, it was the latter who once, in an interview, shared:
"Why should he have not done it? He did it to protect his image, his family, his children. Why should the public know of my love for him or his love for me? I love him and he loves me- that’s it! If he’d reacted that ways towards me in private, I would have been very disappointed. Mr Bachchan is still old-fashioned. He doesn’t want to hurt anybody, so why hurt his wife?”
