Ranbir Kapoor and Anushka Sharma have been reportedly sharing a beautiful friendship for quite some years. Moreover, the duo's chemistry in their 2016 film, Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, created quite a stir amongst the audience. Even during the promotions of their film and later in many other chat shows or interviews, the duo talked highly about one another. But it is noteworthy that during each of their conversations together, they never miss a chance to pull each other's legs, proving the strength of their bond. However, now, a Redditor shared a candid chat with them and mentioned that their friendship was just a PR gimmick.
For the unversed, the 2016 film, Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, also starred Aishwarya Rai, Fawad Khan and Lisa Haydon, among others. Thus, we also witnessed a chemistry between Ranbir and Aishwarya. Now, we stumbled upon a video shared by a Redditor from one such promotional event of the film, attended by Anushka and Ranbir, whereinwherein he talked about his friendship with Aishwarya Rai. The video began with Ranbir mentioning, "Toh itni baat chit nhi hoti." To this, Anushka questioned him, "You are saying that you are friends with Aishwarya on that set, and she was talking to you." Giving an affirmative answer, Ranbir shared, "Yes, everyday we use to hang out." However, Anushka said:
"Rubbish you were. She is hanging out with you."

Listening to Anushka, Ranbir swears to god about his friendship with Aishwarya. However, in a mocking tone, Anushka mentioned, "Matlab oo really. She would say Ranbir aao beta let's hangout." To this, Ranbir added, "Beta as an you calling her old." Then, the two of them had a friendly quarrel. Following this, Anushka was heard mentioning, "You're behaving like hum toh bade matlab", and then shows a hand gensture of mocking him. I think she was giving you 'no bhaav'." But objecting to Anushka's allegations and talking about his friendships with the two actresses, Ranbir stated:
"Lot of bhaav she was giving. Isko bolte hai jealousy. Ki agar mai aur Aishwarya in touch rehte hai toh hum actually best friends hote fir iski koi jagha nhi hoti mere life mei. Kyunki hum best friends nhi rahe toh Maine bola chal aaja meri best friend ban ja toh ye meri best friend hai."
The Reddit user shared the video with a caption that read, "Were they really bffs or was it a PR gimmick for the movie? Also the Beta idhar ao." And soon after the video was posted, many netizens started reacting to it. While some mentioned that it is quite natural that two friends don't get much time to talk or spend due to their work, others affirmed that it is just a PR game that the actor used to always open up about his friendship with Anushka and nothing more.

Earlier, in another joint interaction with Bollywood Hungama, during the promotion of the film, Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, Ranbir was asked to choose the best kisser between the two leading divas of the film, Anushka and Aishwarya. To this, the actor gave a shocking answer that he didn’t kiss Aishwarya in the film. However, he mentioned that it was with Anushka that he performed the scene and found her a good kisser. But Ranbir also made an unusual remark that he would love to kiss her more than that, leaving Anushka shocked and cringed with it. Furthermore, Ranbir took a dig at Virat Kohli, as Anushka was dating him at that time. Ranbir stated:
“I haven’t kissed Aishwarya, but although I really would have loved to kiss Anushka more. I think Anushka is a damn good kisser. I think someone is really lucky.”
