R Madhavan is one of the most prolific actors of his time. He is known for his stellar onscreen presence and handsome looks. In addition, Madhavan is also immensely loved by his co-actors, friends, and acquaintances for his humble nature. But it is quite shocking to know that Madhavan once wanted to marry the most beautiful actress of her generation, Juhi Chawla. Now, in an interview, the actor made the confession and left his massive fanbase stunned.
R Madhavan and Juhi Chawla will be next seen in their upcoming Netflix original web series, The Railway Men. Madhavan recalled his ardent wish to marry Juhi during one such conversation between the two actors. He mentioned that after watching Juhi's 1988 released film, Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak, the actor went crazy for her, and decided to marry her. However, it should also be mentioned that Madhavan hadn't made his debut in the films by then. Thus, he told his mother about his wish and elaborated:
"Luckily you said yes. I must tell you, I want to make a confession in front of everyone. When I watched Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak (QSQT), I had told mom 'I want to marry Juhi Chawla'. That was the only aim, to marry Juhi Chawla."

However, Madhavan's wish remained unfulfilled, and he couldn't even work with her on any of the projects. And despite working in the same web series, The Railway Men, Madhavan and Juhi couldn't get to shoot together. Revealing the same, Madhavan added that he did not get to work with Juhi in the new series also, as she was cast only after he had shot for his portions. Talking about Qayamat Se Qayamt Tak, the Mansoor Khan directorial featured Juhi opposite Aamir Khan, and it was counted amongst the top five grossers of 1988. On the other hand, it was only in 1993 when Madhavan could finally enter showbiz with the popular TV show, Banegi Apni Baat and made his movie debut with Inferno in 1997.
For the unversed, Madhavan's 2001 film, Rehna Hai Tere Dil Mein, co-starring Dia Mirza and Saif Ali Khan in the lead roles, is also hailed as one of the most-loved romantic Bollywood films to date. Although their chemistry won many hearts then, in an interview with Bollywood Hungama, Dia made a shocking revelation about Madhavan's character. Talking about the same, the actress shared that she was uncomfortable with the way Madhavan's character, 'Maddy', was stalking her back in the film. Adding that she continues to feel the same way, Dia had said:
"I was uncomfortable when Maddy's character was stalking me. Although Reena (Dia's character) acknowledges it. She gives it off to him. She has that moment when she tells him off. What works that people get past that notion, that it's okay, is the fact that Maddy's character, at the end of the value, has very strong values, is respectful, is kind, is well-intentioned, most importantly."

Coming to Madhavan's personal life, he is married to Sarita Birje, and the duo is blessed with a son, Vedaant. The celebrity kid has already established himself as a top-of-the-league athlete at a very young age and is a gold-medallist swimmer at both national and international levels. Proof of the same is often found in the proud daddy's official social media handles. For instance, taking to his IG handle on August 5, 2023, Madhavan had shared a beautiful video featuring his talented son, making the country and his parents proud as he became the bearer of the Indian national flag at the Commonwealth Youth Games. Vedaant looked handsome in a blue blazer and matching trousers as he confidently walked, carrying the flag in his upright arms. Along with the video, Maddy penned:
“Goooo INDIAAAA. — ALL THE VERY VERY BEST.”
