Pankaj Udhas was born on May 17, 1951, in a small village named Charakhadi in Gujarat's Jetpur. He was the youngest child of his parents, Keshubhai Udhas and Jituben Udhas, who were quite close to music. Despite being a government employee, Keshubhai Udhas used to play the sitar, while his wife, Jituben Udhas had a great passion for singing. Both his elder brothers, Manhar Udhas and Nirmal Udhas went on to become famous singers.
With so much inclination towards music in their family, it was evident that Pankaj would also do something in the field of music. However, no one knew that the youngest child would go on to become the biggest name in the entire family. Pankaj Udhas not only made a timeless mark in Bollywood with his soulful tracks but was also one of the few singers who introduced ghazals to the masses.

On the professional front, Pankaj Udhas saw a lot of success and was a constant name in media headlines, courtesy of his successful songs. Despite being such a legendary figure, he always preferred to keep his personal life private. For the unversed, Pankaj tied the knot with the love of his life, Farida on February 11, 1982. The couple welcomed two daughters, Nayaab and Reva.
Unfortunately, days after Pankaj Udhas and Farida's 42nd wedding anniversary, the ghazal maestro passed away at the age of 72 due to pancreatic cancer. As per a report in Times Now Hindi, Pankaj was a proud owner of expensive cars like Audi A6 (Rs. 62 lakhs), Mitsubishi Lancer (Rs. 7 lakhs), Hyundai Santro (Rs. 4 lakh), and 1951 Model Fiat, which was one of the most expensive cars in the country back in the 50s.
For the unversed, Pankaj Udhas started singing by the age of 7, and when he was 11, his elder brother gave him a chance to sing at an event. The 11-year-old youngster sang the song, Ae Mere Watan Ke Logon, and it left everyone stunned. For his soulful singing performance, he received Rs. 51, and since then, he has never looked back. In the coming years, Pankaj Udhas earned thousands of lakhs for performing at live events and singing in Bollywood films.
