Despite being a government employee, Keshubhai Udhas used to play the sitar, while his wife, Jituben Udhas had a great passion for singing. Both his elder brothers, Manhar Udhas and Nirmal Udhas went on to become famous singers.

Unfortunately, days after Pankaj Udhas and Farida's 42nd wedding anniversary, the ghazal maestro passed away at the age of 72 due to pancreatic cancer. As per a report in Times Now Hindi, Pankaj was a proud owner of expensive cars like Audi A6 (Rs. 62 lakhs), Mitsubishi Lancer (Rs. 7 lakhs), Hyundai Santro (Rs. 4 lakh), and 1951 Model Fiat, which was one of the most expensive cars in the country back in the 50s.
