Shah Rukh Khan's IPL team, Kolkata Knight Riders, has left everyone screaming at the top of their lungs as they bagged the winner's trophy this season. After the wait of a decade, Kolkata Knight Riders won the IPL. For the unversed, this is the third time the team has won IPL. Earlier, KKR won the title of winner back in 2012 and 2014. The man behind this win was none other than the then-captain, Gautam Gambhir. Surprisingly, as Gautam was back on the team as a mentor this time, the team again grabbed the winner's position in his presence.
There's no denying the fact that SRK is extremely happy over his team's win in the IPL 2024. In several photos and videos that surfaced, we could see the actor giving a peck of love on his team's mentor, Gautam Gambhir's forehead, and it was a pleasing sight to witness. However, as per a report by Dainik Jagran, Shah Rukh was keen to bring back GG, i.e., Gautam Gambhir, to his old team, Kolkata Knight Riders, and even requested him to manage the team for the next ten years.

Not only this, but the report also suggested that Shah Rukh had handed Gautam a blank cheque and mentioned that he was willing to pay the amount the cricketer would want. Some other reports also suggested that Gautam has been paid an amount of Rs. 25 crore for his role in KKR throughout the IPL 2024, which makes him the highest paid in his team and as well as other coaches.
KKR not only got the winner's trophy, but if the reports are to go by, and as per the record of the previous seasons, the winning team would get an amount of Rs. 20 crore, while the first runner-up can get Rs. 13 crore. Not only this, the team who would end in third place would possibly get Rs. 7 crore, while the fourth team's prize money is reportedly Rs. 6.5 crore.

In an after-match interview, Nitish Rana, one of KKR's players, revealed a short story about Gautam Gambhir. He mentioned that when GG was named as a mentor, he dropped him a long text stating that he was extremely happy. Gautam mentioned that he could only be happy if the team stood at the podium while holding the winner's cup. Nitish mentioned that he would never forget this, and said:
"I want to share one short story that when GG bhaiya was named the mentor, I sent him a long message as I was really happy. But he replied saying, 'Thank you but I would be happy if we stand at the podium with the trophy in our hands'. Today is that day and I will never forget that message."
